Well, since the DBH crew is going up to infinite speed and timeless void feats don't need to be supported, I think this should go through without contest. In RuneScape there exists a being known as the Spirit Beast. This beast exists outside of the normal universe and tunnels through the universe that separates all other universes. He manipulate's and inhabit's RuneScape's Void.

This Void is timeless. How do we know that? Easy.

1. We have statements from characters in the game confirming that this Void lacks space, matter, time, and energy. This void is beyond the physical multiverse and is unbound by any of its rules and regulations.

2. It existed before the Elder God, Jas, came into being. Why is this important? Jas is time. The Tokhaar describe her as "time, and so time flows. She is sand, and so there is desert.

The fact that this void existed before the embodiment of time and has been stated to be timeless proves that it is, in fact, timeless, and thus the Spirit Beast and everyone who scales to it should be Infinite in speed.

I think it is better if you provide scans or screenshots of the claims presented, but if this is true, then I don't see a problem with it.

Also I'm not actually doing that because this upgrade thread isn't real. It is made to point out the ridiculousness of the DBH upgrade thread.

If I wanted to I could indeed provide scans of the Void being timeless, but I don't support anyone being upgraded for this. Why? Because it is inconsistent and the individuals themselves, not just the Void, lack infinite/timeless statements.

Oh good lord people... this was made to show how ridiculous the whole thing is... please don't tell me y'all are unironically agreeing with this.

Actually, besides gameplay, is there any reason why Runescape people shouldn't be infinite speed? Our characters are basically god-tier and higher-end Players can solo bosses no difficulty. It's like saying The Daedric Princes shouldn't be given their speed level because "Muh, they showed limit speed before" or some crap like that. I agree with Upgrades.

So this thread is basically pointless then?
Not entirely, but for the sake of actually changing characters, yes.

This, to me, shows how crazy liberal we are with handing out infinite speed to the point that I can upgrade a verse with Hypersonic at best speed to infinity because of a timeless void.

Inb4 the Spirit Beast actually gets upgraded over this.

@Akreious

Because they literally never show any sign of infinite speed and no individual has any timeless statements?

I mean Jas herself may literally be infinite, but she scales to literally no one.

"Because they literally never show any sign of infinite speed and no individual has any timeless statements?"

Last I checked, besides Gameplay, there's no reason they shouldn't get these upgrades. Unless Runescape got updated the last time I played, "They didn't show it" when 99.999% of the game is pure gameplay isn't an argument?

This thread is to demonstrate the ridiculousness of our current Infinite Speed standards. The Spirit Beast is only subsonic, and doesn't shown any sign of Infinite Speed.

But because "TIMELESS VOID!!111", people are unironically agreeing to it.

@Akreious

Tuska. She flies through space. It took her a month to get to Geilinor. Clearly not infinite, yet she is stronger than most gods, who can curbstomp the Spirit Beast. This is a definable, direct timetable that can calculate a speed of travel, and it ain't infinity.

All the gods in the god wars wouldn't need armies, since they would all be frozen to them and such fodder would be irrelevant, unless of course they scale. At that point you have infinite speed Imps, which scale to normal men. So pretty much the entire verse down to literal house rats become infinite.

This, Matt, is why a case by casis exists.

For the love of god we do not need another Infinite speed thread.

Ryu agrees we need another infinite speed thread.

We can't just act like this issue is OK. It isn't. We have zero cohesive standards for infinite speed and that isn't OK.

Dark times. Times before I realized that consistency and supporting evidence needs to be a thing.

But honestly the 4-D part of High 3-A is weird and probably needs to be addressed eventually

How is this any different than DBH tho. Both have no consistent showings or supporting statements. These are equally valid (AKA both aren't valid).

I'd prefer to solidify our Wiki's infinite speed policies before continuing, as right now we won't come to an agreement.

Because you need to prove that it is. I could just chalk up Tuska and the gods to being PIS and call it a day. This stuff must be consistent and supported. I was wholehearted ready for infinite speed DBH when those Mira scans were given, but it turns out those are DBX.

Those statements are the kind of support you need to prevent this kind of ludicrous upgrade. The timeless void in RS even has more proof than the DBH void.

What happened to Burden of Proof.

The whole point of a Content Revision is to bring up evidence to try to convince the people of your positive / affirmative argument, not wait for people to prove a negative to you.

The statements for the DBH thread were the proof though, along with the natural assumptions that would arise according to the standards. If you want hard Feats, that's fine. But we should probably use "possibly" more often.

Yeah. It proved its point and gave me a good talking point. I'll bring it up in the inevitable "Infinite Speed thread V3.0". We can close this.

However this was always about DBH

Edit:

It is three statements of a single thing. Sure, I can accept that the DBH Demon Realm is timeless. What I cannot accept is that it is consistent and the individuals themselves, not the realm they inhabit, are timeless.

We can say "prove me wrong" on so much. You can't prove that the Spirit Beast isn't Infinite and High 3-A, but logic and consistency demands it isn't such.

You need more than a single timeless void to say "this is the way it is and you can't say otherwise" when literally every observable and lore-based instance in the media does not indicate infinite speed.

The three statements on DBH's side are more than enough. Whoever disagrees is in charge of proving their inconsistency. Otherwise you'll ask me to prove the Earth isn't flat after an entire compilation of reasons why it's objectively not.
