I blindly followed some random, obviously evil dude's orders, destroyed a conveniently empty city, completely betrayed Sonic's trust, and used the power of the Chaos Emeralds to destroy the Earth, all to get my memories back. What other choice did I have? Besides ask Sonic or anyone else about my past at any time?

Speed equalized.
Both have access to ONE chaos emerald.

Bloodlusted.
 
Shadow since he has a lot more expierience using Chaos based attacks, as well as having overall higher DC (not AP)
 
Shadow. He has a greater arsenal of abilities that Sonic can't use such as Chaos Spear, Chaos Blast, Chaos Magic, Roaming Chaos, Chaos Nightmare, Chaos Burst, and Chaos Rift. Equalizing speed is also redundant since the two are virtually equal in speed to begin with. Not to mention those inhibitor rings, as long as he's wearing them, he's suppressing his full power.
 
What everyone said, more experince with the emerald, more vercityle attacks, Shadow.


Btw shadow with the long quote under him with sonic simple Gotta go fast is hilarious.
 
Sonic high diff

While Shadow can use more Chaos abilities other than Chaos Control most are either just damage dealing or BFR which Sonic counters with Time Break, Slow Gem, or Chaos Control

While Sonic still has his color powers from becoming intangible and absorption, psuedo black holes, lightning manipulation, explosion manipulation etc.,and having several ways to increase his speed through the Blue Custom Gem, Speed Break,and Super Peel Out.
 
1) Yes, there's no reason Modern Sonic would not be able to use it.

2) What do you mean, "it doesn't work"? Sonic doesn't even use it due to being limited to a few moves during that gameplay section. If he did use it, there's nothing indicating that it wouldn't have worked.
 
How do you know that, tho?

He never uses it on bosses due to being limited by gameplay mechanics.
 
I think I'll go with Shadow, high difficulty.

While Sonic has a lot of versality via Color Powers, a lot of those powers are things that Shadow has seen or encountered before in some manner, not too mention that some of them he has himself or are just forms of mobility. To be fair, Sonic has also seen a lot of the things Shadow has as well. Hence, both of them have various offensive options, plus other abilities, and there is a lot of canceling out inbetween them.

However, I believe that Shadow's greater experience with the Chaos Emeralds, their associated powers, his potentially greater output with removing his Limiters and his more aggressive nature/willingness to bust out the big guns, tips things in his favor.

Shadow 6/10, IMHO.
 
To be honest i am going to say that this is inconclusive as it would depend on who stops time first.

Since both are bloodlusted
 
Doesn't Sonic canonically win this? Not a vote, just a question. Sonic's dealt with Shadow's repitoire, several times, and aparently has stuff from other games here now too. Does one chaos emerald start let shadow start with inhibitors off?
 
Not there, on the ark. Also when Sonic used chaos powers without even having a real emerald. Also generation and Sonic Chronicles. Shadow I Chronicles was actually haxxier than usual, now that I think of it.

The ARK fight was a draw since either Sonic or Shadow would win depending on which one the player chose to play as. Plus Shadow can use Chaos powers with no emeralds, real or fake. Having an emerald does enhance his abilities though.

He did solidy beat him in Sonic Generations. And Shadow keeps his inhibitors on even with a emerald.

And Shadow is able to use his Chaos Powers without an Emerald except Chaos Control itself
 
Shadow can also use colour powers as seen in Colours,plus Shadow has atleast a slightly edge on Sonic in terms of Power, Durability, Skill and Intelligence
 
Shadow wasn't in colors though. Sonic probably beats base shadow due to that being canon, but limiters off I'd probably give to Shadow for casually beating an army of clones of a guy who 1 shotted sonic later on in the same game giving him a massive AP advantage.
 
So my vote depends on whether or not Shadow has the limiters on.
