That's because of the force field. The stand itself is 8B and needs to get out of the force field when need to attack. We know this because Valentine called D4C back to force field when Johnny attacked. Kakine can't bypass it but counter can work.

How can you paradox a infinite number of elementary particles anyway? And also just to point out Dark Matter is his consciousness and Dark Matter is him. Not just his ability.

I'm pretty sure paradoxes would erase Kakine. Just on the idea that it doesn't matter if you're immortal or can regenerate really well. If you can't recover from your very existence being paradoxed well... yeah.
