Nicol is stronger

Homura is smarter

Nicol has power negation and insta-kill

Homura has power drain and mind manipulation

Going for a stalemate

Not sure on Homura being smarter than him going from his profile, and also he resists Mind Manip while having Memory and Mind Hax of his own.

Either way just a reminder. Counting the vote.

Oh shoot, didn't see that.

However, I also realized there is no tabber separating his 4-A powers from 2-A ones, do you know which ones belong to which? It could have a massive effect on the potency of the abilities.

Not really, I dunno that much about Bolas. Just thought it would be cool to find a match where we don't get insta "memory hax gg" for homu homu and seeing how he fought Madoka back then I assumed that would be fair.

I schnee, then he probably wins via power negation unless it is literally by touch, in which case concept manipulation vs insta-kill becomes the main bout.

I dunno what he leads with but considering he can oneshot people on his level too I'm not sure how much of a factor that is here as much of what he might lead with can and will result in insta-kill as well.

When Homura leads with Memory Manipulation, which he has no resistance to since Mind Manipulation is a separate aspect, and we don't know what he leads with then....

Voting Homu

Fate starts to wonder why we do that separation when Memory is literally a part of the mind.

Anyways, vote counted.

Thinking, processing and imagining=/=Memorizing I guess.

Ragyo from Kill La Kill proves this.

Memory is a part of your mind, frankly speaking. But I can get someone who didn't display resistance to said hax not getting it as a hax like Mind Manip would have many applications, Memory being one of them (kinda how Conceptual Manip or Plot Manip are specialized forms of RW but get their own page).

Exactly.

Despite Ryuko resisting mind manipulation before, Memory Manipulation works perfectly.

His much weaker, post-Mending form has mindscrewed someone without him having to do anything, simply because they tried to mess with his thoughts. There's also this:

"The walls around the dragon's mind were smooth and featureless, like dark obsidian. There seemed to be no entry, nothing to even latch onto. Jace had never encountered a mind so impenetrable, except for . . . the merest moment of a memory surfaced of a mind as smooth and dazzling as a wall of crystal. But even as the thought entered his mind, it erased itself, and he could not remember where he had seen such a thing—or even what kind of thing it was."

The erased memories Jace is trying to remember come from the first time he tried to interact with Bolas' thought process and shut him down, but Bolas passively mindscrewed him and erased his memories of the event.

Then this happens when Bolas actually lets Jace into his head.

"He frantically strove to erect stronger psychic shields, shocked at how easily Bolas had penetrated his outer walls. But perhaps, in his arrogance, the dragon had made a mistake. Bolas had left a trail, a metaphysical string connecting his mind to Jace's. Perhaps this was the handhold Jace needed.

He followed the trail, desperate to break through, desperate to save his friends.

It was working! He found a small crevice in the otherwise featureless obsidian shields. He concentrated on opening it wider, he just needed to . . .

If you wanted in, child, you merely needed to ask. Each word from Bolas was like boulders crashing down a mountain.

The obsidian shield disappeared, and Jace fell unexpectedly into Nicol Bolas's mind. There the dragon was waiting, smiling.

Nicol Bolas clutched Jace's mind as he tried to fight him off. He crumpled over with pain, livid with himself at how easily he had fallen for Bolas's ruse. I have to do better. He could still escape this trap, he just needed more time. Seconds, he only needed seconds . . .

Seconds you do not have, Bolas whispered inside his mind. The Multiverse only suffers fools briefly. A useful lesson, if you survive. The dragon held Jace's mind roughly, and squeezed.

Synapses crumbled. Pain blossomed. Insanity beckoned. A towering wave of darkness rose in the distance. Jace knew the crash of that wave meant dissolution. Mind-death. Without conscious thought, he began planeswalking away blindly, not knowing or caring where. He had to avoid that darkness.

He felt himself being pulled across the Blind Eternities as the wave of darkness struck, and then he knew nothing at all.
"

The whole thing with Bolas, throughout pretty much his entire character history, and anything relating to either trying to affect him telepathically or using something related to death on him has been along the lines of "You're seriously trying this, again?". Especially since by trying to interact with Bolas' mind or thoughts, you open a direct line up to yourself, which he has very much experience exploiting.

As for what he leads with, against a foe that he actually deems a threat, and often even ones he doesn't, it's just whatever is going to be most effective.

What's funny is that I recently gave the main character of my show something similar, in which a goddess (who's Marie, but Mercurius) lives in his mind, and people who try to get into his head with hostility die horrible, horrible deaths.

I dunno. I guess. He's kinda used to stuff like this. There was that he fought his first other planeswalker, an extremely powerful leviathan entity, and the two had a very long and drawn out battle, proving evenly matched. However, the battle ended when Bolas finally just touched the leviathan, causing it to instantly stop living, despite the two being equal in power.

When stuff like that doesn't work, he has back up plans. For instance, he later on fought another planeswalker, named Leshrac, who was seemingly totally immune to dying and any form of being killed. So instead, he took the Mask of the Myojin of Night's reach and sealed Leshrac inside of it, instead destroying him by expending all his essence to fix some multiversal rifts until there was nothing left of him.

My guess is "not a lot".

Nicol Bolas because now I'm spiting Homura and think she's the new spam who needs to die because of Azathot's reasons too. ovo

Gargoyle, get the ST voters over here and end this meme.

This is very similar to 682 vs Buu. Just replace 682 with Bolas, Buu with Homura, and absorption with mind hax.

(Basically, Homura leads with memory hax and screws herself over as a result)

Does Homura's Conceptual Manip. could affect Nicol's Haxx? (Mostly regen).
I think it could affect him, but I don't think it would be overwhelmingly useful. Bolas has a much higher layer of defenses set up against beings of his level than someone like Madoka does, and pre-Mending Bolas is already superior to entities who are walking incarnations of concepts (Valor, Wonder, Filth, Anger, Brawn, etc.).
