Yusuke Kitagawa vs. Adeleine and Ribbon

These characters already resist ice manipulation that can freeze enemies that are capable of traveling through many parts of space. She'll be fine. And again, he's not one-shotting here. She has far higher ap than Yusuke. If anything, she one-shots. Also, as far as I'm aware, without optional equipment, Yusuke can only reflect attacks via High Counter. Which only has a 20% chance of working. So yeah, my vote stays. She can create 4-A enemies who also have far higher durability to the point it'll take a while before Yusuke does much.

That still isn't Absolute Zero cold. But enough of that, it's not on a CRT yet and cannot be argued.

We've gone over the fact that she has a far higher AP than Yusuke, no debating that. However, Yusuke has Vorpal Blade to negate the durability gap, which is also an AOE, and thought-based. As for High Counter, it only working 20% of the time is game mechanics, to prevent certain party members from being too overpowered in gameplay, especially towards a Persona that doesn't even naturally Repel physical and cant be altered to fix this.

Yes.

Do you know why every time you use an ice move, or fire move, or electrical move, it doesn't instantly and always inflict the respective ailment like it would in a debate or real life situation? Immersion. Because it would make the game far too easy, placing feats over investment. It's the same reason why Kratos can lift thousands of kilometers wide bridges, but needs a key to open a chest.

But is their anything in-game that proves that it would always work? If so show me

That's literally it. It's 20% only so Yusuke isn't constantly reflecting physical attacks and making him completely broken, especially since his Persona isn't tailored to resisting physical at all, only manipulation of ice, and resisting it. That's what High Counter is for.

I asked what in-verse contradicts it. Not why it would be inaccurate if it was. Wouldn't his persona not being tailored to resisting physical support it not being 100% effective anyway. If their is nothing in-verse to disprove the inconsistency then it should canonically be inconsistent.

You aren't getting what I'm saying.

The literal percentages are there for immersion, so one move isn't ridiculouslu broken. It's the same reason fire doesn't always inflict a burn, the same reason why moves like Mind Slice don't always inflict confuse, for immersion and gameplay.

Counter skills are not passive, but like most things in Persona, they aren't chance-based either.

Chie in Persona 4 Arena uses them at will, but unlike Tetrakarn, they don't stay up for long, so it's reaction-based. It's basically a reflective guard. It's speculated that the "parry windows" are longer the better the Counter skill (Counter > Counterstrike > High Counter), but that's irrelevant here.

Granted, I remember now that this piece of info isn't technically on a CRT yet, since we have to wait for the forum move, so I think it's best to put this match on hold.
