Yoshi has dura negation?

A thought that crosses my mind. Does he transmute his enemy into eggs when he eats them? Or does he have dura ignoring acids to digest people?

I think he surrounds them in eggs it's probably a natural process of his body send as shown in most of the games they do you survive this process so it's not that useful in battle inless there's something in the environment that would be hazardous to them.

From my knowledge, Nintendo never outright explained how this power works. They just simply said Yoshi can do this. This power tends to vary in what or who it works on(Eg. He can swallow spiky enemies in the games we can ride him but not in his own games) but I doubt size is the issue. In Yoshi's New Island, he can swallow Mega Shy Guys and the Metal variant, who are no larger than Bowser's standard size in that game.
