Why isn't Kirito's Laser Sword considered as powerful as a Lightsaber?

To me it seems like that's due to a personal bias against the SAO verse. It's clearly described as a lightsaber, at least as close as possible without causing copyright infringement.

This is not remotely enough evidence for an upgrade. Something being a reference to something does not imply that they're comparable in power.

It sounds that way, looks that way, and is used that way, but that's pretty much it.

That's like saying a well-made life-like copy of Mjolnir made of metal can match the real one. Nope.

Anyway, its best feat is melting bullets. Also, it was blocked by a rod of starship metal.

Except that SAO and SW were the same universe, there's no upgrade ocurring.

I think that this should be closed, since it easily refutable.
