Why is Hyper Sonic non-canon?

I never once clearly understood why Hyper Sonic is considered non-canon in this wiki, can someone please tell me? Didn't it made it's video game appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles? Isn't Hyper Sonic literally a more powerful version of Super Sonic, and game Sonic's most powerful transformation until this date? So what makes it non canon? I always thought Hyper Sonic is canon.

Hyper Sonic has never appeared in any other game because Sega worried that Hyper Sonic's flashing colors would give kids seizures. Soooooooooo yeah.

The fact that Porygon is still banned in the Pokémon anime because of Electric Soldier Porygon is so stupid :/
