Why do we limit compressive strength to pulverisation?

I was wondering why we used compressive strength for the pulverisation value on the wiki when real compressive strength tests show that they don't limit it to when a material is turned to dust, rather, when its cracked/fragmented. Which is why I wanted to ask, since, it'd probably be more fitting for values such as fragmentation (For metals it'd be largely more complicated).

Generally other engineering things like Young's Modulus, Bulk Modulus, Shear Modulus, etc aren't exactly usable in a more intense setting like a battle.

Wouldn't it then be better to change it to regular fragmentation?

Please don't question it. Those customs are stuck in the Vs debating community as a whole for over a decade now, and there is no way in heck they're going to change. Also, even the current act of using shear strength for fragmentation is a severe overestimation of certain feats like breaking down doors and busting cinderblocks. At this point, you're much better off just calling it "convenience" and carrying on with your day.
