Why are we so strict about not letting fanfics on the main wiki?

The purpose of the wiki is to feature original characters from various verses, rather than serving as an index for fanfiction. The focus is on capturing the essence of the fandom's theme, rather than enforcing strict guidelines.

A majority of the profiles on that wiki are still from fanfics, mostly fanfics from people who aren't even members here. The other problem is that fanfics are... fanfics, so there's gonna be way too much powercreep in them as well.

Basically, our balances between the respective purposes of VSBW, FC/OC wiki, and Joke Battles wiki is our main motivation behind it all. VSBW is for published works and their respective characters, FC/OC is for fanmade works and their respective characters, and Joke Battles wiki is just throwaway joke and meme characters.
