One does not fabricate a cellphone, computer or even a simple calculator using a rock and a stick. You just write the charatcer can create a time machine from these materials, but considering the feat is nonesense, that odes not represent how smart a character is.

Rocks and sticks being the sole components needed for the creation of technology was left behind long ago with the stone age, metals are some of the most essential parts of technology since long ago. Besides very cheap exemptions like those Arts and Crafts stuff you give children.

The metals that were used to climb the tech tree to cellphone and computers were excavated and shaped by stone and wood made tools, but this is completely different to making high level technology solely from sticks and stones.
