Which character has been downplayed the most?

how is saint Seiya being downplayed in fact I heard someone even say Seyia is megaversal which is a old term for complex multiversal. I know in the past it was downplayed like seyia is all hype. Also as well as Archie sonic people claiming he isn't universal because of the so called debunks.

Not really "Downplayed", but Gilgamesh/Arceus probably. Everywhere I either see the PIS meteor feat being brought up, or people bringing up how weak Gil is, when he isn't.

And probably some random Naruto characters. Due to the entire "Bullets faster than characters" statement/hoax.

I met my fair share of people saying that Madoka is 3D universal, so there is that. Also a lot of people downplay GEOM saying that every feat he has is imperial propaganda.

Most certainly Undertale; even though there is plenty of exaggeration in the opposite extreme, Undertale's unconvential (but excellent) story elements make it a game very vulnerable to misinterpretation and downplay.

Power Rangers is probably the most downplayed verse I know of. Just up until the recent revision. The god tiers capped at Town level and the ridiculous number of Planet to Large Planet feats (I counted around 14+) were deemed outliers for...some reason. Relativistic+ to MFTL+ speed feats were present and calced and are very consistent but were deemed outliers as well (Off the top of my head I know of at least 3 MFTL+ feats, 1 MFTL feat, 2 FTL feats, 1 Relativistic+ feat and 6 Sub-Rel feats, done by fodder). All of which were deemed massive outliers...

Digimon gets hit hard with it pretty bad too. We had a discussion in chat awhile back whether or not 4chan could solo Digimon via hacking. Sure, the people were joking, but I've seen people use that as an actual argument.

Optimus Prime also gets hit with it, oddly enough. I don't really see people consider Optimus to be above the Building level range.

A lot of western media get hit hard with downplay too. Captain Planet is considered a street leveler by some, when he has a casual Multi-Continent level+ feat, Crystal Gems are considered "barely peak humans" on a lot of sites and don't even get me started on Adventure Time..

@Dark That one guy who made the thread a while back trying to get all PR characters downgraded to Street level because "They dont seem that strong"

@Weekly

Mega Man gets hit with the same logic a lot. "That's not a real black hole because it doesn't look like one". News flash, civilian robots in the Mega Man Universe smash the laws of physics and space-time regularly (i.e. Cold Man, a storage unit for fossils, screwing with the laws of thermodynamics with his use of absolute zero, Centaur Man, who's a mere museum curator, freezes time, Concrete Man, a construction worker, transmutes matter into something that can be smashed into bits simply by jumping on it).

The Battle Network series gets underestimated the most though, since people reason "it's digital, so it's not real."

Kirby is a rollarcoaster of different opinions. I've seen him downplayed to Sub-Human levels (lol he's only the size of a nickle) and wanked up to "unbeatable levels".

"Chara only destroyed the Underground, a singular, small country, then Deadpool beats her"

So many conclusions. I might as well say my opinion:

Base Sonic defeated Dark Gaia in base form then went Super to defeat Perfect Dark Gaia. I think that Base Sonic's low end should remain at 7-B while his high end gets upgraded to 5-A. I disagree with Super Sonic being 4-A his high end should be Low 2-C IMO.

The real cal howard said:
Kirby can only take 6 hits from a tree.
Naw, Cal, Kirby can survive no more than 5 hits from an apple. Even if the apple is rolling downhill, it could still kill Kirby. One could kill Kirby by getting uphill of him and pouring a bushel of apples down the hill. It would be like the famous Indiana Jones boulder scene, except Kirby would be stampeded by apples and dissolved into red mist. Oh, and Kirby's too young to be smart enough to get out of the way, and he's too slow to outrun the apples. After all, he doesn't seem to be MFTL+ in gameplay, and any video game character who looks slow or normal in gameplay is Normal Human speed by default, regardless of any feats at any other time.

@Adam

This isn't the thread for a discussion like that, regardless if your claims are true or not. Let's just be chill here.

Clearly all we need to do is unplug a computer to kill Digimon.....

Y'Know I say that but an High 2-A Omnipresent being in Digimon was defeated that way......We don't talk about him...

Adware > Digimon-verse and Mega Man: Battle Network-verse.

Although I guess this thread is designed to talk about characters who are frequently downplayed, not ones we can easily downplay. Maybe I should start another thread like the latter. Another spite battles thread could be fun, too!

"Gems are like balloons, they are very resistant to slamming attacks, like punches or explosions, but any piercing attack or sharp object can easily poof them like it was nothing."

HST mid and high tiers tend to be downplayed a lot. Ditto for Dragon Ball mid tiers. I've said that Krillin could solo One Piece or Fairy Tail and people have laughed it off.

Star Wars - pretty much anyone without "Darth" in front of his name or not a Jedi Master or not a god tends to get downplayed hard. Ahsoka Tano is a nice example. As of 3 BBY, she is on Councillor level by word of god and feats and the downplay of her I've seen is quite desperate.

Not characters but weapons/vehicles:

Star Wars weapons tend to get downplayed a lot. Most people refuse to believe their handguns and standard assault rifles are like 9-A (despite a nice collection of small building level feats even in the underpowered Disney continuity). When you get to Tier 7 missiles and Tier 6 turbolasers is when the downplay gets truly desperate.

Probably the most desperate downplay of Star Wars weaponry I've seen is during a discussion about the Umbaran capital defence missiles, which have yields of 100 Megatons each. One fellow went as far as to say that they might be using a different system of measurement and that 100 Megatons in their system is not so in ours.

So the galaxy uses metrics like our real world (metre, kilometre, kilogram, tonne), they use a 24 hour time format for a standard day, even the freaking unit of "Joule" has been mentioned in some stories. But they use a different unit of measurement for energy and weapon yields? And let's not even talk about the numerous feats for these weapons (such as vaporizing a hill sized asteroid and heavy turbolaser bombardment melting the crusts of planets even in the Disney continuity).

Not to point fingers, but there are even members of the Staff who have downplayed other verses like Final Fantasy, due to characters dying from being shot by bullets or being scared of falling off cliffs despite taking blows that can blow up moons or more as a side effect of certain attacks and running after characters who can cross distances at speeds well exceeding the speed of light.

Not familiar with this verse but I do know that they're all up there in the power tiers. That sounds like some bad downplay.

It mostly stems from "There's little collateral damage so they can't be Star level!"
Superhuman characters and weaponry from Power Rangers and Star Wars get downplayed with this kind of logic.

Well Hiro downplayed his own characters like Jacob, Dimaria and Brandish because he couldn't handle their hax...

Digimon I think the most downplayed usually... (Pokemon fans can't handle it) just a joke of course...

Nah, Power Rangers downplay (at least on this site) came from "Well, Zedd had a Planet busting weapon, ergo every planet level or beyond feat performed by any character in the entire series is an outlier, because then they wouldn't need planet busting weaponry"

@WilliamShadow

You joke, but have you seen the comment section on the Greymon vs Charizard death battle? My favorite comment was "POKEMON WOULDVE WON IF THEY GOT TO USE THEIR LEGENDARIES!".

As much as I hate to admit it, I think it goes:

Most Pokémon<<<most Digimon<Legendaries<<<<<<<<<<<Demon Lords<Royal Knights<Creation Trio<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<Cyber Sleuth peeps<ENAIC=Homeostasis<<<<<Zeed=<God

@Darkanine

Not to be mean to the Pokemon fans on that video, but I keep seeing the same cycle of insults against Digimon (with Digimon misspelled), Tai (also usually misspelled) cheated, Red should have had six Pokemon, and he would have won with legendaries.

Honestly, I have not seen a more acrid response since Superman vs Goku.

The High 3-A Royal Knights. You saw what I said about Cyber Sleuth.

Cough Cough Yang vs Tifa and Kirby vs Buu cough
