What counts as Combat Speed?

I would like to know what are the requirements for a characters to be given a Speed at which they can fight at.

Combat speed refers to how fast a character can move at during a combat situation.

Keep in mind that when we refer to combat speed, we refer to situations where a character moves in short bursts/quick movements as opposed to travel speed, where a character moves at a constant speed over a longer period of time.

Basically, if a couple objects are coming at you really fast, and you react to and deflect those objects, that is your combat speed.

Thank you, does it also work vice versa?

Like your moving extremely fast and Dodges objects back to back while moving at that constant speed?

Combat speed - as distinguished from regular speed - occurs only in short bursts or intervals, as Crazy stated.

To clarify, a character than can run 10 km in 10 seconds has a regular speed of 1 km/s, whereas someone that can move 1m in 0.001 seconds has a combat speed of 1 km/s.

HOWEVER, to be combat speed and not reaction speed in that second example, the movement needs to not be singular (as in, it cannot be a single jump, stride, etc) and instead be complicated in some manner.

@Alakabamm So would Someone piloting a jet moving at super sonic speeds while maneuvering back to back obstacles in close range count as combat speed?

hmm...maybe? Depends on how they dodged and how close they were each time. That can be calculated, maybe

From my observation, to qualify for combat speed, the character would have to make multiple movements after reacting to an object moving towards him/her at a relatively close distance (1 to 10m)

Ex: If your character in a jet back dodges a bunch of rocks ahead while travelling at full speed, that qualifies for combat speed.

Another example would be a guy deflecting multiple bullets with his sword, as it would require multiple body movements to deflect all the bullets moving towards him.

Just remember that combat speed = how fast a character can fight and react to things.

Pretty much this is my interpretation.
