For anyone not aware, Spidey and Morrigan are at the same spot on the MvC scaling chain. So without any amps or whatever, their AP/Durability is equal

Okay. Let’s go over this:

Spider-Man
-Smarter
-More skilled in combat
-Spider-Sense (Precog has explicitly allowed him to see people’s attacks before they’re used and his range with the ability allows him to detect the presence of any life on a city wide range or from behind thick metal walls)
-Range
-Stealthier (not really a huge leg up here though given Morrigan can sense strong souls)
-His Power Gem ability directly counters Morrigan’s Astral Vision
-Spider-Sense would counter Invisibility Card
-Greater agility


Morrigan
-Soul hax (somewhat irrelevant here due to this being a friendly sparring match, so neither are killing each other. Also because anyone asks, these two were seen literally side by side in MvC2’s ending and MvCI’s story mode. Yes, they have fought specifically alongside each other before)
-More versatile
-Mobility
-Power Drain is an effective hax she can still use without lethality
-Body swap hax (although it’s arguable if this would be the best move to use here)
-Extrasensory Perception would counter Invisibility Card


Spider-Man and Morrigan happen to share some semi-verse wide abilities/equipment, so when it comes to stuff like Gems and ESPECIALLY Cards, there’s arguments to be made either way on certain wincons that may involve those. Both have X-Factor, along with the other equipment that amps them, so I doubt anyone is getting the stats advantage for long in this battle. Either one of them will respond with the same amping methods TBH. If this weren’t a friendly matchup, I’d say its pretty likely that Morrigan just removes Peter’s soul and destroys it at some point in the battle. But since this is a friendly sparring match? I think Spidey just beats her with his very clear skill advantage paired with his Spider-Sense
