Vs battles wiki pet peeves

**** that. I'll make my hatred of pedophiles as well known as I want. Even if staff bans me, it'll be one hell of a bad look for them to ban someone for the crime of saying pedophilia is bad.

Just going to say this once but saying it and being it is completely different... Just contemplate over everything instead of just messaging with hatred and anger

Speaking about the RvT, from a different angle.

Why is our system so ******* inadequate and reliant on our staff members being able to remember something for more than 2 hours? We have a pseudo strike system in place but we apparently need pen and paper to note it down, else you can make the numbers of strikes between 1 and narnia. And god forbid the reported goon has caused shit months ago and you have to ******* dig his first strike up through the pile of garbage that is the thread.

I proposed to Ant to just implement a warning list on every user or some shit months ago, probably got stranded in narnia as well together with the warnings people got for being useless on the RVT

To play devils advocate there is a overwhelming sense of imitation when it comes to CRTs (getting evidence, checking the facts, finding credible sources, etc) and if it's for a popular verse then the OP has to prepare themselves to get jumped by the verse supporters which in itself is off putting (moreso if some of the supporters are mods/admins or aggressive) plus if they don't have any allies or friends to help them with the arguments then the OP has to singlehandedly reply to several people at a time which is simply unacceptable imo and definitely not good for someone's mental health/well-being moreover when all is said and done if the OPs CRT was rejected, (from their PoV) they've just wasted potentially hours to days of their life for possibly nothing to change (that's a sure fire way of causing peeps to just give up and decide to take pot shots instead).

Also I've seen my fair share of perfectly fine CRTs get closed without warning or get buried into obscurity if the verse/character in question is niche (it ain't pretty seeing the OPs reaction).

Tl;dr: Even though this is "Vs Battle Wiki" theres a reason CRTs draw far more controversy compared to Vs threads (especially in recent years).
 
@The_Axiom_of_Virgo you mean intimidation? As for the supporters being potentially aggressive, that’s what thread mods are for, to settle down any tension in the debates if it gets too out of hand, in regards to the whole “they’d feel like they wasted their time”, maybe instead of just being obsessed over a downgrade not being accepted, you can get a new insight onto the verse in question and learn there’s actually some merits to the ratings in the first place.

Look at Final Fantasy and Castlevania for instance, on the surface level looking at these series and see universal ratings and higher sounds ridiculous for a couple series never really focused on power levels to the same extent that Asura’s Wrath or Dragon Ball has right? You try to make a CRT to downgrade the series because either “Sephiroth needed meteor to blow up a planet” or “Belmonts only whip walls to pieces” or any typical downgrade you see for these series. You have a discussion and learn there’s more to the series than just the surface level stuff you hear from random folks. In the end you at least can come to a middle ground to understand one another as to why the ratings are the way they are.

Take this from a BlazBlue fan, because I’ve seen countless people claim the entire series itself reaching 3-A and above to be absolute wank because they only look at the surface level shit like finishers and claim that’s the peak of the series. If they actually bothered to understand the series they’d know there’s a lot more going on with the series than just spectacle.

If we did something like this @Artorimachi_Meteoraft would so far drugged into the metaphorical ground of VSBW that he wouldn't be out until Charmander was unbanned.

Homie has like 50 warnings for acting like a goober in RvR alone, much less his entire collective actions on this wiki.

Ngl I have sympathy for Arto because there was a time where I was kind of immature and unfunny too and it's really bad to look back on those memories.
