"Even by naming the Great Devourer, men betray their ignorance. Every thought and action, every spark of life in the Tyranid race is bound and interlinked into a single great organism stretching over light years of space and controlled by the immortal hive mind. A billion times a billion Tyranids stand at the rim of the galaxy, each no more than a single cell in the living body of the hive mind, the devourer of worlds." - Codex: Tyranids

The Tyranid Dominatrices are Small Planet level, so I'll vote for the Tyranids since it says the Prethoryns are only Multi-Continent level, so they have no way to put them down.

The problem is how finite they seem to be in number compared to their opponents here, unless I'm missing something.
Their number is probably only limited by game mechanic(you cant expect the game to summon trillions of them at the same time) and in the game the Prethoryn don't have other empires economic or fleet limit limitation to build their fleets, but Tyranids will murder Prethoryn simply because they have stronger individual creatures and Warhammer verse in general still more dangerous verse than stellaris so conquered galaxy in warhammer verse seems more impressive feat for me.

With sufficient number the Prethoryns will easily stomps High 4-C

If the Tyranids cant do that then I pretty sure the Tyranids won't be considered as very dangerous threat for the imperium when the imperium them self need to deal with several SS level threat.

Well, Tyranids are able to adapt to almost anything, which makes them incredibly dangerous. However, their numbers are also a big factor in why they're viewed as such a threat. There are, at minimum, enough Tyranids to span several lightyears, and it's implied there are enough Tyranids to literally fill the galaxy, iirc.

This is of course not even considering the fact that they are constantly making even more Tyranids from the biomass they consume.

The Nids are able to threaten Holy Terra with the entire Imperial Fleet.

The Eldar, Necrons and Imperium of Man entered a rocky Alliance and used a massive Ork WAAAAGH to distract the Nids and were still losing.

They'll take this.

Yep, but that how Prethoryn reproduce too, although they kinda behave like zerg in sense they will cover the entire planet with some sort biomass(after they consume everything else) and then create their own nest, albeit at the same time the Tyranids probably can take advantage from their biomass lol.

Just curious, but it's the Necrons is still not at full power? and the eldar is still kinda **** up due to the eye of terror insiden?

The Necrons would shitstomp everyone else in the galaxy right now, if they were at full power.

Do you mean complete full power like, living Ctan among them or just regular full power?

Because i'd put the IoM against the Necron Armies pre-heresy and i'd say the IoM would stand a pretty good chance.

Might be wrong, though, honestly.

Full strength, full number, War in Heaven era 'Crons.

Pretty sure most of them is still slumbering and they beat the Ctans.
At the cost of the majority of their race, yeah.
Ah, right. The Retcon made Necrons go to war against the Ctan instead of obeying them.

Prethoryn Scourge. They are superiour to "normal" races who can beat monsters such as dimensional horror or stellar devourer. Tyranids haven't killed a C'Tan. So Stellaris ones have my vote.

Well yeah but they nearly solos the imperium.. although depend on the new update if paradox give us some new toy to update stellaris Tier(Because Prethoryn and the other crisis can always be scaled to the united nation)

Stellaris multiverse is six dimensional. This is due to it containing fice spatial dimensions, so add that to the one dimension of time and you have a 6-dimensional multiverse.

Scary thing... Is it from 7 Edition?

4th, iirc. This is a similar quote from the most recent Tyranid codex.

"The Tyranids' numbers are vast beyond counting, swarms so large that they block out the very stars, yet each and every creature is but a single cell in the living body of a single super-organism.

Every thought and action, every spark of life in the Tyranid race, is bound and interlinked into a single unfathomable consciousness, a great entity that stretches across hundreds of light years of space.
"

Which is actually probably more impressive since it clarifies "light years" to "hundreds of light years".

EDIT:

Though it's important to note that "hundreds of light years" is also likely many of the ships being very close together and not in a straight line. This is considering the same codex states that Hive Fleet Kraken on its ow was able to cover a front spanning thousands of light years during its attack on the galaxy.

"Seen on a galactic scale, Hive Fleet Kraken was attacking across a front that covered thousands of light years, making a cohesive defence impossible to mount."

This means that were you to start lining the Tyranids up more or even just bunching them up less, the entirety of their species would cover significantly more than "just" hundreds of light years.

"Great entity" - what is it? Entire fleet? Or whatever big bioship?
"Great entity" in this context is referring to the race as a whole (all the Hive Fleets before they start splitting in their attack and then dividing even further into tendrils), since they all (with very few exceptions) share one consciousness, and every Tyranid itself is considered just one part of the greater organism.

Well, yes, but Prethoryn are stronger than guardians like Dimensional Horror who created a black hole that devoured a star, and The Fortress that scorched a whole solar system.
