TVD Originals Speed Downgrade

In the this blog, the Originals were calced to have hypersonic speed based on Klaus running from New Orleans to Mystic Falls in under 10 mins of Caroline calling him for Damon

I was looking at the calc and saw someone comment on how Klaus had actually already been on the way before she was calling him.

Which makes this hypersonic calc unusable

1: I’m not sure if the original books are actually canon to the show, since they have some aspects that contradict lore from what I’ve heard, like were witches
which shouldn’t be possible based on the hollow’s curse [Hope as Nature’s loophole is the exception not the standard].

2. Here are some other speed feats they have. a. Explosion Reaction, and b. Explosion Reaction [Klaus was shown later to be unscathed with the hunter alive, which means he not only outpaced the explosion before it went off but also grabbed the Hunter as well and all while doing this faster than Damon jumped out of the room if I’m not mistaken

The explosion stuff seems to involve them moving before the explosive actually triggers. Making them scaling to the explosion questionable.
