The only time someone opened with Offensive Soul Hax in Castlevania was with Alucard in Aria of Sorrow, but:

- It failed on taking the all the souls of a little group of zombies, one escaped

Well Drac can negate Mid Godly regen so there is that. Plus he does come with passive Soul Manip thanks to his Castle which always appears on him wherever he goes, though the starting distance may let Not Darkest Dungeon Ancestor do something.

Well, yeah it is passive but he apparently needs to kill his victim in order to take their soul, or just use Soul Steal. I'm unsure how this is treated here
