Once DeMatteis Cosmology gets accepted there (which will be case once Ultima shares his thoughts in the thread), will be a good few amount of High 1-As (most of it is thanks to Doctor Strange having an explicitly blatant feat of affecting the entire cosmology during Man-Thing, and him being blatantly weaker than beings like Galactus, Scrier, The Other, and others)
 
So do you guys think that there will be an event next summer in which sorcerer supreme Doctor Doom is the main antagonist?

Also, what do you think about Al Ewing's current Thor run? I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand I find it refreshing that Thor's is characterised as a fundamentally nice person again after many years of character assassination against him and especially against Odin, who has gone from Tom DeFalco's wise and benevolent leader to an emotionally damaged, irrational, genocidal, tyrannical lunatic under Matt Fraction and Jason Aaron.

And on the other hand, Al Ewing seems to deliberately try to downpower Thor as much as possible. Basically he is hitting far below his demonstrated weight class, especially as he demonstrated sufficient raw power to destroy infinite timelines, force Galactus to flee, and defeat Cul the Serpent, who can destroy Captain American's shield, even before acquiring the Odinforce, whereas several other characters that Ewing has handled have arguably hit far above their logical weight class.

For examples from Al Ewing's past stories:

Spectrum: Almost overpowered a Beyonder.

Blue Marvel: Destroyed the physical form of another Beyonder.

Storm: Caused damage to several Dominions.

Black Panther: Effortlessly sliced off an arm of The Hulk, and was able to fight Thanos.

Odinforce Thor: Completely incapable of causing any damage to elder gods, barely able to stand when subjected to gravity equivalent to Jupiter by Storm, almost overpowered by regular Rigelian warriors, and was easily killed by The Grey Gargoyle and Mister Hyde.

It seems extremely biased from my view, although, again, I mostly like the storytelling and the characterisation.

Can’t comment on the Thor stuff, but on the Doctor Doom part, I have very mixed feelings.

On one hand, being a Doctor Doom fan, I’m always up for another event where he becomes a nigh-omnipotent God then loses his powers due to arrogance or something akin.

But being an even bigger Doctor Strange fan, since the 90’s, Marvel editorial seems to have this relentless obsession with writing Doctor Strange into stories where he loses his all his powers and/or his title as sorcerer supreme, to the point where it’d be safe to assume he’s had more appearances depowered than powerful the last few decades.

Even when Doctor Strange does have his powers, Marvel inserts this plot point that “magic always has a price” to give Strange enormous nerfs. Hell, at some point, Loki was bewildered that Strange could transmute a Hell dimension saying it would be an impossible feat for him due to the sheer price. The same Strange who had feats scaling to Celestial and Abstract tiers supposedly shouldn’t be capable of performing a Skyfather level feat, sure.

I should’ve bookmarked this comic… but at some point, to explain what the “price of magic” means, Doctor Strange tells someone a story about the Ancient One in his early days healing an injured village kid, only to find out that his illness transferred to someone else. You’re kidding me. Healing, a fodder hax for any high-tier verse, supposedly has drastic consequences for Sorcerer Supreme level characters?

Your whole rant about Thor being nerfed could basically apply to Doctor Strange. We finally got the first storyline in decades where Strange is powerful and married again, where he angrily walked up to Umar and Tiboro (who are both between Celestial and Abstract level) and states he could have destroyed any of them whenever he wanted all these years, and now he’s back to losing his powers… again…
 
My thoughts are mixed on the Immortal Thor run. I've really enjoyed the story itself, but I do agree that my suspension of disbelief has been ruined multiple times by Skyfather Thor struggling against opponents he logically should have zero issue dealing with. This is a Thor stronger than the one who went toe-to-toe with Knull, and he's getting jumped by a bunch of street goons?
 
My understanding was that Enchantress' magic only applied to his mental state while on Earth, and that the belt he made from Zeus' portion of the Allpower cancelled it out anyway.

I did love Thor absorbing Zeus' powers. That was incredibly cool and fit with his apparent Skyfather form ability to absorb insane amounts of energy from his foes, just as he did with Galactus. I just wish that Ewing would at least try to be consistent.

Rage Power is not only an ability for Hulk, all Hulks can do the same, so: Red She Hulk Varies up to Planet level, far higher with Rage Power Skaar Varies from 3-C up to High 3-A, higher with the Old Power, far higher with Rage Power, even higher with Rage Power and Old Power Like father...

I kept doing some changes to the Kree sandbox, but I can't find much on the Pursuers only Korath and he also doesn't really have much to him either.
 
So after analyzation of Legion's recent portrayals, you can easily make the argument that he's higher than Low 1-A/1-A (if the Abstract upgrade goes through) . Multiple statements from the comics imply that Phanalyx (I hope and pray that I'm saying that right) and Mother Righteous both indicate that with Legion's power they could become a Dominion, and Narration officially declares Legion as the most powerful being in existence as of relatively recent comics.
 
The stuff about a Dominion is more so that his higher-dimensional nature and mutant creativity can aid their efforts to become a Dominion. He's well below Dominions in actuality.

For example, a Dominion actually consumed him in one timeline, and Mr Sinister had to wait 1,000 years to successfully create something capable of Dominion status even after learning how to clone Legion/hybridise Legion clones.

... Are you positive those other versions of Legion are comparable to the one we see in 616 ?
