The Boys discussion thread

homelander has access to the entire us millitary and all supes on earth. chooses his best way of dealing with butchers team is one self locking door with a dog whistle lol
it's so ass bro. Giving GOT a run for it's money in worse ending oat.

(I think per our standards the feat is likely to be valid but an outlier, for what it's worth.)

He flies in a straight line and back down; the guy's body does not drop, he says he's an austronaut so he took him to space, all off-handedly in a situation where he has no reason to lie to anyone present.

I think speculating on whether or not he was lying is an exercise in futility. We can't guess that at an accuracy better than flipping a coin.
homelander could have easily tossed him somewhere and called it a day. ''no reason to lie'' all hl does is lie. he is not even a reliable narrator.

i do agree but homelander has too many antifeats for this to be remotely consistent. the best way to take this is that he was just exaggerating, imo. but bare minimum he did not fly him there personally but simply threw him there ( which is still a big stretch )

Too obscene for this community. Everybody tone down this kind of talk please. 🙏
Ant, this is The Boys we’re talking about rn, the tone of the thread is befitting the tone of the show; that being absolute cutthroat violence and edgy gore. In the comics Black Noir literally eats babies. You can’t exactly seperate a discussion about the franchise from the violence or talking about it.

Then why not just toss him from there? Or... just pop his head off?

He likely took him out to space, but meh that's clearly an outlier not scalable.

You can make the argument that Kimiko's durability increased to take the force of her blasts
she was still vulnerable to bullets so that much hasn't changed. the force of her blasts are big but not comparable to sb at all. Like not even capable of destroying the white house. Which SB could easily pull off.

i can only speculate. maybe wanted more acceleration since thatd help him throw him further.

Homelander is clearly a bisexual icon what are you talking about?
No, Kripke is simply a talentless idiot who's been making jokes about farts, asses, shit, and memes for the past few seasons.
He has absolutely no idea when jokes are appropriate and when they're not.

Not to mention that he ruined one of the greatest antagonists in media, turning him from a terrifying, manipulative psychopath into a cartoonish jerk who was humiliated by every character he encountered in Season 5. Instead of a bold satire of superhero satire, we got a toothless attempt to ridicule a certain segment of society and one specific individual.

Again, he just flies up and down. We can only judge what we see and are told, and therefore shouldn't speculate on things we do not. You'd actually have to prove he threw him.

At any rate, a person being a liar still doesn't give us an actually reliable way to tell whether they're being truthful in a given instance or not. Lie detectors (as well as similar hijinks, tricks and clever "methods" in the same spirit) have as much ability to give us valuable information as a blindfolded person pressing buttons.

I 100% agree. Butcher beating the shit out of Homelander post depowering was earned and expected, but I think the dialogue could have been handled FAR better.

They just flanderized the hell out of Homelander this season lol he's supposed to get more and more insane each season but at least keep the intimidating factor

Homelander was legit so nerfed this Episode that Maeve would have been able to solo his ass back at Season 3 finale if he was like that at that point😭
tbh i always thought homelander while probably the strongest or close to it was always exaggerated in strength by vought. he never did anything all that impressive. beating solider boy is his best feat but even then soldier boy too was product of propaganda. sb was legit losing to bombsight and needed to grab a weapon to reverse things

I think I’d be fine with them at Mach 3, it’s enough to be faster than the rest but not enough to basically statue bullets like MHS which contradicts the show.
Nice talk, sorry if I was unreasonable at any point. Turns out some things about powerscaling still can get me a bit uppity, lmao.

Gosh, I wish Amazon gave them the budget for a big fight.

Not for the sake of feats, because the "apocalypse of IKEA" since it takes place in one room doesn't do the marketing justice.

He is consistently transonic+.The narrative puts him there, the only other feat I could think of is the time in a bottle scene, which can be considered an outlier.Plus you didn't answer to my other points.
But he's confirmed to be faster than Homelander's flight speed, so I say that makes him at least supersonic

flies up tosses a dude and flies down is as good of an interpretation as flying to space leaving a dude and flying down. actually better since the second is heavily contradictory.

id agree with you except in this case hl has all the anti feats in the world. so id say its a better interpretation he exaggerated. btw if we can only judge by what we saw does that mean we can go frame by frame and take the time hl needed to fly from our PoV to outr of our PoV ( say 2 meters in 0.1 seconds for example ) and then calculate the time he was gone to get travelled distance? and if you want to argue he accelerated wont that be an assumption outside of what we saw? i think you can see the problem .

"take some responsibility for your actions"

"NOOOOOOOOOOO"
-Kevin, it's time for you to grow up!
-NOOOОООООО!

By the way, Homelander was lucky he didn't anger the fish, otherwise he would have been torn apart by octopuses and sharks. Why even bother with the plan to destroy the supers when we have the 8-C shark and squid?

Scorched Earth my ass. Whats even the worst thing Homelander did this season? they really missed the opportunity to have Homelander go ******* rogue as they ve been hyping too I really expected a crowd killing or smth.

Homelander went off so easy too have ******* Marie, Soldier Boy, Ryan, Kimiko and Butcher 5v1 jump on him he's been portrayed and hyped up to be the strongest ffs

episode 6 ending: RUN!
episode 7 start: 'they all chilling at their hideout

Wasn't Deep supposed to be able to survive Marianas Trench now some random fish killed him😭 and he has every opportunity to reedem himself bruh
that's the point, being the opposite of A-Train, Deep had every opportunity to change his path but decided not to do it because of fear and search for glory, at the end he remained with nothing

Also

regular Hughie definitely scales to 9-B now.
Meh, Butcher beat him hand to hand very easily and not just in a skillful way; he was just taking a lot of punches. With MM, I think he mostly used that pan or whatever, so maybe at most 9-B

I just realized that Ryan has a decent speed feat:

Crime Analytics caught wind of a young man flying outside Kolvereid.
That's in Norway, which is 3,800 miles away from Washington DC.

Homelander's live broadcast being several minutes and Ryan traveling that distance in a short time will probably get a HHS/MHS flight speed result.

Other than that... this episode was a mixed bag. Homelander losing his powers and his death scene were great but uh... scorched carpet:LOL:

Also The Deep dying to an Octopus is weak sauce but deserving I guess

He landed a couple hits and kinda did damage, and was able to keep up with MM even if with a pan. I'd say ye at most 9-B works. Comparable but definitely weaker.

are we getting an Depowered 10-B Homelander key too? lmfao.

I assume a general CRT will handle this stuff but I can't imagine Butcher's staying at Deep level, that or him holding his own against the Homelander is deemed too inconsistent.
