Strongest One Punch General Discussion Thread v8

From what I could find (mostly by using a reverse image search on that guide book page), "shave", "destroy" or "erase" are almost always in context of the Earth's surface, like here for example.

Also, even throwing a million punches in a centisecond wouldn't make him light speed.

Cause we have a lot of small stuff to look over. Nothing big atm though.

Hey is there some sort of way to calc KE underwater? Like the KE of swinging a giant hunk of metal under water.

Also, even throwing a million punches in a centisecond wouldn't make him light speed.

that would iconically make his attack and combat speed FTL

Pretty sure the visuals only suggest like 20 attacks in that period, which wouldn't be.
The visuals are for presentation, The visuals also presented saitama's consecutive punches 16 only. But they were more. and that hypersonic calculation was pixel scaled.

And FF is even confirmed LS in the databook.

The solitary sword reaches victory through the speed of light! The sword Shiden 'Shunsatsumaru' does not give the enemy even time to perceive it!

Look, I've provided evidence for my points and have proved them valid. Now, I want to sleep. I'll respond tommorow if they're are any replies.

bye.

Imade made a point about that translation in that it's incorrect. It's read "in the nick of time" rather than "through the speed of light". He goes over it here

As for the databook its been discussed before. The kanji used is þá┤µ╗à which means destroy in the figurtive sense of the word.

As for the manga/webcomic Boros only mentiined the Earth's surface. Also that guy on Reddit did not win and that was before all of the above came to light anyways.

As for the webcomic feat here are two different stopwatch diagrams. The feat, until changed, happened in one centisecond. Its at best a High Hypersonic feat, not a SoL one.

I don't know about that one chief. Most of translation say its LS. Like this one

and that destroy being used in a figurative sense isn't that common, These sentences themselves are being used in a figurative sense. The word destroy is a component of it but it still means destroy. There are even literal sentences there that are not being used in as a figurative sentence. For eg; The war brought ruin to the country.

The sentences in which destroy is used are figurative not the word "destroy" itself.

and Boros was not bluffing when he said that he's going to wipe saitama out. He was angry and serious about it. The databook statement doesn' seem to be a figurative sentence eitheir, it was said in serious sense and it was expositing what boros's attack is and what it was going to do furthermore.

and the webcomic and manga mention that he was going to wipe saitama out the planet's surface not the planet's surface but as that guy said on reddit. with correct context its "To wipe you out of the planet's surface and the planet". His points were valid and considered by a lot of people. It still stands.

and that feat happened at light speed, look he delivered multiple blows in that second and when his first blow reached the enemy it (his first blow) would technically be faster than a milisecond. It would be lightspeed as also confirmed by the Databook. and in the manga it would be more amped because thats how most of the feats are there that have been amped from the webcomic.

he basically had reached/travelled to garou in that period of time. His actual attack, the blows happened in afterward period of time.

and FF had delivered numerous blows in that period of time. With his sword, he can even land more multiple blows in that period of time.

The sentence is using the figurative usage of the word. Unlike in English where destroy is context sensitive Japanese has multiple versions of destroy. And the one used in the databook is destroy in the figurative sense.

and the webcomic and manga mention that he was going to wipe saitama out the planet's surface not the planet's surface but as that guy said on reddit. with correct context its "To wipe you out of the planet's surface and the planet". Boros outright clarified he was going to blow away both the planet surface and Saitama. He even used the word "together with". As I said on Reddit the only way to get surface wiping is to misread what was written. Every offical source and later fan translations use surface wiping.

Also a dude saying his dad speaks Japanese and said he was right is "My uncle works at Nintendo" levels of baseless evidence.

and that feat happened at light speed, look he delivered multiple blows in that second and when his first blow reached the enemy it (his first blow) would technically be faster than a milisecond

What? According to the on page clock the entire event happened in one centisecond. Even if he crossed 1,000 kilometers in tbat timespan it still wouldn't be light speed. Hell lets just say he crossed a 10 meters per punch and use your 50 punch figure.

  • 10 * 50 / .01 = 50,000 m/s or mach 145
The speed of light is nearly 300,000,000 m/s. There's no comparison because the timeframe given is not small enough to get a SoL rating.

Finally stop spam posting. We have to make another thread now since the post limit is almost reached. Just make one post containing all of your thought rather than five.
