These sentences themselves are being used in a figurative sense. The word destroy is a component of it but it still means destroy. There are even literal sentences there that are not being used in as a figurative sentence. For eg; The war brought ruin to the country.
The sentence is using the figurative usage of the word. Unlike in English where destroy is context sensitive Japanese has multiple versions of destroy. And the one used in the databook is destroy in the figurative sense.
and the webcomic and manga mention that he was going to wipe saitama out the planet's surface not the planet's surface but as that guy said on reddit. with correct context its "To wipe you out of the planet's surface and the planet". His points were valid and considered by a lot of people. It still stands.
Boros outright clarified he was going to blow away both the planet surface and Saitama. He even used the word "together with". As I said on Reddit the only way to get surface wiping is to misread what was written. Every offical source and later fan translations use surface wiping.
Also a dude saying his dad speaks Japanese and said he was right is "My uncle works at Nintendo" levels of baseless evidence.
and that feat happened at light speed, look he delivered multiple blows in that second and when his first blow reached the enemy it (his first blow) would technically be faster than a milisecond
What? According to the on page clock the entire event happened in one centisecond. Even if he crossed 1,000 kilometers in tbat timespan it still wouldn't be light speed. Hell lets just say he crossed a 10 meters per punch and use your 50 punch figure.
- 10 * 50 / .01 = 50,000 m/s or mach 145
The speed of light is nearly 300,000,000 m/s. There's no comparison because the timeframe given is not small enough to get a SoL rating.
