In fairness, EVERY fandom will have that sect of people within them. But yeah, I agree that the "1-A for transcending dimensions" thing is very eye-rolly to encounter lol

On top of this, the franchise very regularly uses "dimension" in place of "universe". So as they mentioned, this seems more like "crossing universes" than "greater than spatial dimensions".

at least the few times where they mention something actually being a dimension, it works...

Well I decided to revist Sonic Superstars recently and man I better not see a single person on the internet complain about Sonic bosses being easy because these bosses are just something else.

Especially the final boss of Trips story because of all the instant kill moves that dude has while also having a health pool longer than the solar system. Aside from that this game is extremely underrated and overall I've had a good time with it.

I've been trying Sonic Superstars recently too, I got it for christmas. I'm really enjoying it, it isn't my favorite Sonic game but I think it definitely holds up as a worthy successor to the other classic-style games. Not as good as Mania or 3&K imo, but honestly I'm liking it more than 1, 2, and CD.

I always felt like most of the complaints with the Superstars bosses being too long were a bit overblown, as I much preferred them to other Classic Sonic games sometimes having literal 5 second long fights. Trip’s final boss though was genuinely so awful and frustrating that I rage quit and never beat him. It’s mainly the lack of a checkpoint in the fight that ruins it, as the first phase is extremely monotonous and easy outside of the instant kill attacks. If you could start from the second phase it would be less frustrating as you could learn his attack patterns easier.
 
Game characters can outpace the eyes of Solaris, can keep up with post-Forces Sonic’s boost that’s > mid-game double boost (which broke through a dimension closed off from all other dimensions, including the dimension of time, meaning Sonic physically jumped back into the timestream), can dodge Time Eater
 
Superstars is pretty decent. I think what hurt it was not having the Mania devs, tbh. Trip's final boss is also one of the hardest bosses in this series, just behind Master King's Koco trial. 2023 was the year were Sonic fans couldn't complain about the games being too easy anymore lol.

Yet Sonic with blatant statements in Generations still only has the "Only in white void" treatment. Feels really dumb.

I was curious about "transcending dimensions" since I am aware that "jigen" is not exclusively used for mathematical dimensions, and I was curious about how the statement would be handled around here
Thanks for the info, I also think it's only meant to be universes, I didn't know about the different connotations of "transcend" though so it was illustrative!

I don't think it's ever said that Null Space is closed off from time.
 
Sonic as a franchise constantly uses "dimension" in place of "universe". Is there further evidence that Null Space being shut off from dimensions means spatial dimensions specifically?

I think he means the Time Dimension at the end of Generations that accompanies the End of Time (the Infinite Timestream in the Time Eater Boss Fight) due to Tails saying it’s in another Dimension from the Lair, (as Tails has to build an interdimensional communicator to even talk to the Super Sonic’s from the Dimension he is in relative to them).

Not the LITERAL normal Time Dimension we experience in the passage of time through a day to day basis. Though, if I’m wrong that’s on me.

Yeah, pretty sure Null Space is already accepted as being in a range beyond End of Time, seeing as Tails can communicate to EoT but not NS (although that might be due to the PR interfering with Miles Electric who knows)

I've noticed that a lot of Shonen Powerscalers are sloppy when it comes to translating their faves. They usually get sloppy translations/leaks or accept the officially released translation.

Yeah even though Jigen is OFTEN used for Mathematical Dimensions, it's not ALWAYS used for that. Many verses use Jigen as simply another location rather than Spatial Dimensions.
