So my personal preference is towards using Resurrection.

I agree. Bit annoying every time I see an ability and it never has a scan or, at the very least, describe how it's applicable/used.

Abstract Existence I imagine is because in the same way Dark Gaia represents the concept of darkness, Chip represents the light concept.

Immortality type 8 I have no idea, maybe it’s because his destiny is intrinsically tied to the planet due to the cycle of creation and destruction he has with Dark Gaia, but that’s just a theory on my part.

I also think you could argue Shahra’s Ring is type 8 immortality as Sonic will continuously revive as long as he has the ring and enough soul energy

Also the Sonic profiles are just generally older and the age can be seen in many of them, such as Chip as you've noted. I've been working to update them all over time (as I've done with Tails, Eggman, some of his Modern Era mechs, etc.) and making new ones to better fill the gaps (Eggman's Egg Fleet, Tails' Cyclone, etc.), but I can only do so much. All I'll ask is that you have a little patience, it'd be much appreciated!

Type 8 is because Dark Gaia and Chip will revive every thounsands of years to fight each other in their cycle of death and rebirth

They are abstract concepts of Light and Dark, Dark Gaia doesn't die in the end. Professor Pickle even says Dark Gaia was merely put to rest rather than being vanquished

The realm inside that one temple has chip open it with his power, inside there are stars.
Also he upscales due to being an abstract concept of Light and has a connection with the chaos emeralds.
