I thought their only sort of avatars are daemon princes and that the chaos gods have never came out or manifested outside the warp(i might be very wrong,cos not very familiar with w40k)

This. The reason Khorne has no durability outside the Warp is because he isn't actually outside of it, at any point. It's just his influence, which is limited when outside of it.
