Simple question about a calc forumlua?

Is Work (energy/joules) = Force (newtons) x distance a accurate way to judge energy from a cutting feat (or generally)?
I ask because I Saw a calc for a character cutting apart a massive steel canon using said formula.

It's the same exact thing as volume x destruction value.

Only difference is Force x Displacement is the long way of doing it. To get the force, you multiply pressure with area, then you multiply said force with how far it was displaced.

With Volume x Destruction, you're doing it in one single step instead of two. Area x Displacement = Volume affected, then you multiply it with force and you get your energy value.

However, cutting feats fall under the same exact methods as normal destruction calcs. Depending on the severity of the destruction, it can be frag, v. frag or pulv., just that you're doing that to a very thin volume overall.

AH understood, I was just curious cause I was getting several calcs, and saw one on Sephiroth cutting apart the giant canon (A bit feat but one I've always wondered on how much it was.)
