Shiba Tatsuya vs Darquesse

Speed equal.

Their most important abilities seemed similar, so here we go.

How does Darquesse start of her fight? The One True Onii-sama haxxes her into dust the moment the fight begins imo.

Darquesse usually also just explodes people into nothingness in fights (pulls their atoms apart). Except she wants to enjoy the fight.

As said, their abilities are very similar.

Hmm, I don't know much about Darquesse but Shiba's power works by targeting some form of matter in the "information realm" of magic and then forcibly converting it to energy in order to cause a massive explosion. It's essentially abuse of E=mc^2

What type of defenses does she have against that? If she has some, this is only a battle that can be decided by which is more intelligent and strategic

Shiba most of the time just disintegrates his targets to atoms (or was it subatomic? not sure). Converting to energy is also possible, but to my knwoledge he only uses it on small mass and turns that into an explosion. (he doesn't turn a whole human into energy)

That said darquesse doesn't have a defense against either. A single shot will kill her.

But in that they are on equal ground. A single shot from Shiba will kill darquesse, but has Shiba the defense to take a single shot from Darquesse?

She likewise can just cause a normal explosion that kills him. But what she actually does more often is to pull the atoms of the opponent apart directly using telekinesis, or just outright burn the soul of the opponent to nothingness.

To my knowledge Shiba doesn't have any resistance against such moves and since this is speed equal he also doesn't get the first shot.

Tatsuya actually has 2 different abilities that ignore durability. Mist Dispersion, which is the one he would use in this situation, and Material Burst, the one you're talking about. Using Material Burst would be suicide here, so he would use Mist Dispersion. It really comes down to who uses their instant kill hax first,.

Can't Tatsuya like process two spells at the same time? He can just cancel Darquesse's spell with one hand and vaporize her with the other.

Well, Shiba has a second ability that is basically time reversing his body back to an ideal state, so only a headshot would be fatal

@Gemmysaur: That only really works because of the spells having a sequence that has to be processed before being used. Against wave of hand telekinesis it will likely not work.

That aside Darquesse likewise has the ability to see magic (like elemental sight) and has demonstrated negating or just telekinetically ripping apart spells.
