Scaling Pikachu

I recommend this:

(Game) Pikachu (Has 8-C stat from pokedex) | (Red) Pikachu (Has Dragonair scaling, feats from PKMN Adv) | (Ash) Pikachu (Lucario and Magnemite scaling) | Composite Pikachu (All of the above)
 
I understand that Ash's Pikachu is...different to say the least, but the tabbers would be confusing for casual goers. Also, it would be Game, Manga, Anime. Also, that would mean that most Pikachu have no speed rating, as only Anime Pikachu has shown MHS speeds.
 
Also, if we do make a Raichu tabber, Raichu should be Low 7-C and MHS+ due to increases when Pikachu himself is already very high 8-A and very high MHS

I'm not quite sure how this scaling system works (not my thing, and I like to explore the details of feats and abilities, rather than assign numbers and letters to them), but would you also have to add Metagross into the mix, since Ash's pikachu has faced and won against that pokemon more than once?

@Cal I agree with the Raichu's stats, although a "Likely" before them may be the best way to go, just to be conservative. Also, about the manga key, there are a lot of them, and the fact that these are specific and trained Pokemon kinda makes me want to go more with my suggestion. As for casual go'ers, pretty sure that knowledge of Ash's Pikachu is pretty common, although Red's is to a far lesser amount.
 
Metagross (without scaling) is only 8-B. If we'd apply scaling, then he would scale to the pseudos, which would make him 7-A, but we don't apply pseudo-scaling, which is why Dragonite is 7-C to 7-B.

Eh, I don't know how many times Pikachu would need to fight a metagross, but I can think of two instances where Pikachu took one on, and won. The first was in Pokemon Advanced Generation, where Ash took on Tyson's team (admittedly after some of Ash's other pokemon fought it). The second would be during his battle against Alain in the Kalos Finals (where it was one on one, and after Pikachu took out a Tyrannitar). The only other time I can think of Ash's pikachu taking on a Metagross, was when they went up against one of the Frontier Brains, but I should note that Pikachu lost that one.
 
Hmmm I see. @Otomos, not sure if it counts, although Metagross is feats wise weaker anyways as Cal stated

Composite is... Unnecesary, in a lot of ways.

I think that "Game | Manga (Red) | Anime (Ash)" is better

Off the top of my head;

Charizard can melt rocks with it's fire breath

Blastoise can punch through reinforced steel with jets of water

Ash's Charizard in particular has fought an Entei (albeit an illusion created by Unown) and an Articuno on equal grounds, and came out victorious against the latter.

As for Ash's Pikachu, it has fought and defeated Brandon's Regice and Tobias' Latios (though the latter ended in a mutual KO). I also recall it taking down a large and durable Team Rocket mech the first time it learned Volt Tackle.

I think most Pokemon Ash's Pikachu has fought are one-off, especially the legendaries.

If you speak of inconsistency, do note we're talking about Ash Ketchum.
 
Hasn't Ash's Pikachu matched Lances and Drakes Dragonite a few times? Both of which are ''very ''well trained Dragonites used by Pokemon Champions. So theirs that.
 
I say don't bother with Ash's Pikachu. Besides the fact that the anime pokemon is shit (just popular opinion), feats aren't consistent in the anime.

Case in point: there was once a part early on where Ash used a rhyhorn's horn to attract the electricity from Pikachu to damage it. Small problem though.

1) Rhyhorn is a ground type. Electric attacks would have no effect on it whatsoever.

2) Rhyhorn has the lightningrod ability. This allows it to automatically attract electric attacks and nullify them.

2x protection vs electric attacks, yet pikachu still damages AND ko's the pokemon. Total bs.

Also, there are various accounts of pikachut defeating strong pokemon, only later to be shown being thrashed by clearly weaker pokemon. Too numerous to point em all out, they're easy to find.
 
Is that the instance where "PIKACHU, AIM FOR THE HORN" came from? I think that was back in Generation One, where abilities didn't exist. Nonetheless, it still doesn't excuse the fact that Pikachu damaged a Ground-type with an Electric-type move. He also managed to damage Roark's Onix with Thunderbolt. Funnily enough, in an earlier instance (I believe it was from the opening of the Unown movie), Pikachu used an Electric-type attack on a Quagsire, which did no damage since Quagsire is part Ground-type.

I say Ash's Pikachu should probably be rated by his best showings, rather than try to look for any consistency.
 
The anime of pokemon is plagued by inconsistency and hardcore PIS. That's one of the reasons why I hate it.

I guess that Pikachu should indeed be rated by best showings, though beware of outliers. Like fighting legendaries without being slaughtered on the spot. Trained or not, that pikachu shouldn't be able to take on legendary pokemon, period.
 
I recall Pikachu matching Lances and Drakes Dragonite, both were used by regional Champions so its safe to say they were in top condition.
 
Minor, but Drake is an Elite Four member, not a Champion. I'm not sure if Lance eventually became Champion in the anime or not.

Also, just to be certain, can you link some proof that Pikachu fought a Dragonite?
 
Ash's Pikachu vs Ash's Dragonite

  • Dragonite was tired from Charizard and Squirtle
  • Pikachu was tired from Ditto
  • Dragonite used more than 4 moves ( water gun, ice beam, slam, flamethrower, thunder, hyper beam, agility)
 
So are you saying Pikachu shouldn't scale?

Also, I don't recall Ash having a Dragonite. Must be an error on your part. Whose Dragonite was it?
