Save the World Meta Thread 2

Two things

1) Quoting this.

"Elementals, corporeal undead, and outsiders are likewise unaffected unless summoned. These creatures are spell-like or supernatural abilities, however, may be temporarily nullified by the field"

Josian is both an elemental and a incorporeal undead (As I said earlier, the Draugr were at the beginning incorporeal undead)

He says he cancels "temporarily" their abilities, is there a time limit or does it concern the fact that they are canceled until they come out of the cone?

2) Quoting also this:

"Minor artifacts are not necessarily unique items. Even so, they are magic items that no longer can be created, at least by common mortal means.

Now, I don't know how artifacts are created in DnD, but I don't think infusing the ability of an undead into a staff is considered a "common mortal method"

And I checked the artifacts and I would say that a storm-evoking staff is a little different from an enchanted Hellflame sword.

oh well ... because I believe this is fine with what i have discovered, there is a way to get it as an artifact, I'll call it Draugr's staff.

Either way I read about an answer that there are various ways to get one.

They are, for example (following an answer that one had already said)

"puts it somewhere in the game world. Then ...

1) The characters find out about it / stumble across it (dumb luck / plot device to the Bilbo Baggins, though most DM's don't go for this).

2) The Characters find one in a treasure hoard / secret location / ancient ruin

3) The Characters defeat a monster that has it and take it from that monster

4) Other variations on the basic "magic item quest" native to the D&D game.

Now, since it would be extremely boring as well as not allowed into the Role Play to do my own campaign, I believe the third option is the most possible for me.

Draugr will create an artifact with his own power, I will deal with it in my mind and take it.

And before you ask me, it seems that the Draugr can leave gifts to people when they enter their dreams as a testimony to his presence.

Me:"so it's just plot armor ?"

Bumbu (D&D Exper):"Almost

It's more likely "The gods have deemed this item particularly worthy blah blah blah"

often times the weapons of the gods when/if they were ever mortal are instantly given Artifact status upon reaching deity level

Examples such as the Mace of St. Cuthbert and the Sword of Kas (the thing that killed Vecna)"

So no, the Draugr wouldn't be able to create an artifact by D&D standards

Mmmh ... valid point, but I still believe that the incorporeal physiology of Draugr remains, since as already said he is a incorporeal Undead, so it would not prevent me from swimming through the ground and leaving.

Ok ... this was my first idea, I also said some comments ago ... I practically wasted half a day finding loopholes in your anti-magic cone ... when I could just swim in the ground and summon the storm at a safe distance!

Is it normal to feel like a genius but at the same time a great idiot?

@ Overlord 775

I have found a way to beat your ability, but everything centers on one question.

Beholder can nullify the legendary actions with the anti-magic cone?

Lengedary actions are just actions, they have nottihng different from normal actions othen than they can be used when is your enemy's party turn to act

Well, very well ... then let's proceed with my explanation.

Everything starts from the fog.

See, Beholder's anti-magic cone cancels out any magical effects he sees.

And here's the thing.

Heat Wave: Imix creates a blast of heat within 300 feet of himself. Each creature in the field of physical objects (for example, carrying metal weapons or wearing metal armor) takes 9 (2d8) fire damage. Each creature in the area that is not immune or resistant to fire damage to DC 21 Constitution saving throw or gain one level of exhaustion.

I just need to combine it with the Draugr weather manipulation and get a legendary action that I love to call:

Heat Fog Wave (I don't have much imagination)

Now, this delicious skill allows me to create a boiling fog from the range of 300 feet ... a thick fog.

And while the Draugr weather manipulation can be considered magical ... the fog is not and while Beholder's Darksight ability allows him to see in the dark at a range of 120 feet, it does not allow him to see through the fog, unlike of Imix which has blindsight which allows it to see 120 feet away without even needing eyes.

In other words, I will bombard you with Hell Fireball and you won't even know where I am. Check ... mate.

I thought of that variant right after Overlord told me that the fog can't be hot.

I believe it will be a combination of Ice Strike and Heat Wave

A few questions I probably should have asked a while back: do we get our characters' standard equipment, and if so, do we have it physically with us at all times? Also, do we have their memories/intelligence/knowledge or anything like that?

1) We get their Equipment

2) Dont know about that one

3) We get our characters skill and knowledge the rest I dont know

1: Yes, and you carry it with you all the time, regardless of how much equipment you have... which probably counts as Dimensional Storage tbh.

2: You have their intelligence, skill, and knowledge. Not their memories, no.

@Overlord775

However, I believe this discussion is closed, as my explanation is valid and I know how to finally counter anti-magic cone.

Overlord, I want you to know that I made this discussion for 2 reasons.

First, it made me think about what Natalie had told Josian and I wanted to see if I could counter her move ... and I think I succeeded. (If you don't think it's possible I suggest you read this https://rpg.stackexchange.com/quest...loud-render-a-beholders-eyestalks-ineffective )

As a second thing instead, I have to thank you for this opportunity, even if it wasn't a real fight Natalie vs Josian, you forced me to engineer me and use all I had to overturn even the most desperate situation, because ... let's be honest ... apart from DJ, Natalie is the strongest character of the party (at least the strongest against Josian) and if there is even the slightest chance of winning against her ... then I can beat anyone (not really anyone)

So ... thanks Overlord, it was a great battle (even if it wasn't)

@Faruel

Yes, i agree that fog would stop the Beholder's null, but you wouldn't be able to summon it while under the anti-magic cone since it would null your ability to manipulate the weather

this could be easilly be resolved by you just going underground and making the fog from there tho

@Overlord775

Yes, this is an idea ... or combine Heat wave with ice strike to create a thick cloud of steam, technically this would have the same effect ... because an excessive heat wave melting ice generates steam, right?

Furthermore, despite having a high resistance, would Imix's attacks hurt Beholder as he is at an extremely higher level than him?

1.Yes, but i don't think ice strike generates enought ice to do that

2. Beholder doesn't resist getting hit by the Imix's fire

1 I don't have to combine the attack, I just need the element

2 I think Natalie will have a lot of burns ... infernal burns

3 If we ever have to fight (even if I doubt it, but the idea excites me so much), I think I'll use this theme when I have the upper hand:

Aldnoah Zero - MKAlieZ (OST)

4 No need for Natalie to pay, Josian doesn't need to buy anything

1. Sounds bullsh*t but i'll belive you OVO

2. Good thing internal organs are useless to an undead and my regen is fast as **** boyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

3.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance OST - The Stains Of Time Extended

4. I'll buy you

Remember that Hellflame has vital absorption in it, doesn't it?

And as far as I can remember, vital absorption bypasses Regenerationn.

Ok, if that expression means that life carve works alone, know that every vital absorption of hero of lore works on the undead, who do you think took that element to create Hellflame? From Draugr?

Uhhh, Faruel.

What's this stuff about Hellfire and you making your body out of Hellfire?

And which character gives you the power to infuse weapons with your powers?

Uhh ... Hellflame is not exactly hellish fire as much as a combination of elements of the classes of hero of lore with the flames of Imix.

The Hellflame is made with fire (Imix) Shadow (Shadow Walker of Time), Ice (Ice Strike from Mage Class) and Life Force Absorbition (Life Carve from Doomknight)

For physiology it is the same principle, it is always made of fire but with additional elemental damage.

I thought that if it was possible to combine the techniques I could also do this, more or less.

You see, when i said you could combine techniques, i meant you could do stuff like "you can release a blast of ice and fire" or "you can make your grenade a fire grenade".

Also, when have you shown you can even change your body's fire with Imix?

I shouldn't be technically made of fire since I acquired the powers of Imix? You know ... elemental physiology.

Furthermore, combining the elements with Imix's elemental physiology will certainly not give me resistance to those elements, I am still extremely weak to ice and water

No, i know you're made out of fire. What i'm wondering is how you're changing it from Fire to Hellfire.

Also, this Hellfire stuff you made is out, since that's not really the type of combining skills i meant.

@Crim

Hi Crim,i received the message I Overlord, thanks for letting me keep Hellflame, honestly I was more interested in having the effect of life absorbition than the others.

@Crim

Hi Crim, I have some questions about when I will have Dendar's profile.

1) Will I have the appearance of Dendar even without having to use Draugr's shapeshifting ability? Because I would have thought of 2 shapes that could have Josian.

A basic / hybrid form: The appearance is that of Josian with Dendar's abilities

And a second form I will call "Apocalypse Titan Viper": It has the appearance of Dendar with the elemental physiology of Imix (practically Dendar made of fire)

2) Does Dendar's Ignore Armor attack use his fangs to hit, when I'm in human form, could I use that attack through the sword? You know how it is ... biting your opponent when you're not a giant snake is not very practical.

3) When I am in the form of Dendar, will I still have a sword? (I suppose the fangs are the sword) Or shall I enchant the fangs with Hellflame directly?
