RWBY vol 8 discussion thread

Plus it helps it make more sense than jumping from High 8-C to No Selling an 8-A Attack within a single Volume to have everyone V3 and onwards be 8-B since an 8-A of that Calibur would still stomp them regardless.

So a question. I went around and looked so I could have missed it, but has this scene from Raven and Cinder's fight ever been calc'd? Not only did their clash cause the area including the room upstairs to shake, but it also caused these giant rocks to fall as well. Now I'm not thinking that it would be something huge like a tier change. But considering that Haven was situated at the peak of the mountain in Mistral, and their fight took place down in the Vault which would be inside the mountain, I would think that causing it to shake would be something noteworthy.

Anyone?

Earthquake calcs are iffy and we have no idea how far down they actually are.

Even 1 km wouldn't be a lot and we also can't really judge it by anything but the shaking above ground. Since I don't think making stalactites fall has any rating. Regardless I don't see their Earthquake itself going past 8-A (And split the results in half since two people did it), and the falling rock that hit Cinder was only around 8-B or something last I check.

I mean supporting feats are always nice.

That's fine. As I said I never really expected it to change anything. Speaking of feats, I came across another one that I believe hasn't been calc'd which is the one done by Fria. Not only did it blast through the roof of the facility shown here, but it also instantly froze the room she was in as well. Would this be something noteworthy?

The cold is enough to instantly gave humans Frostbite, as shown when Winter put her hand inside of it. It could be interesting, but I'm not certain how high it'd rank.

Might take a look at it at some point.

Though it wouldn't scale to anyone else, as Fria was described as a Fully Experience Maiden. Implying there is a difference between her and the others. And tanking cold doesn't equal durability either, so it'd only be good for cold resistance for Penny.

Which is why Amber shouldn't be Tier 7 with her powers, as she noted as being very inexperienced.

There are people who can detect lies, but through other means like emotions. Which is Enhanced senses it seems.

But Robyn's Semblance doesn't work by detecting emotions, or at least we aren't told. Just that she can detect lies. So I guess Limited Information Analysis since it was the only thing I can think of.

So I have to ask this and I didn't think I had to until I started thinking about it earlier. What are the requirements for Weiss being able to summon something? I know she can summon things she kills as shown with the Arma Gigas, Boarbatusk and Queen Lancer but she can also Summon a Nevermore which I've never seen her kill on her own. Does that mean assisted kills also count?

She was shown to summon a Nevermore in Volume 8, so I guess? Or maybe she killed a Nevermore some other time.
If assisted kills are Valid, do you think she could potentially summon the Mutated Deathstalker and make it do cool shit like her other summons? I just want to see a Deathstalker be relevant again because that was a really cool Grimm.

I don't know if we'll seeing anything from the games into the actual show, but RWBY isn't like most shows so I can't say it is 100% impossible.

And who knows what we'll see in a spin off or something. I wouldn't be surprised to see more Deathstalkers in Vacuo, considering its desert theme and scorpions relationship with the desert. Maybe a variant of the Deathstalker like the Megoliath, or an Alpha Deathstalker.

Weiss summons a Leviathan because it was a "team" kill.

I do wonder if it works on other things besides Grimm as well.

Man. Imagine if she summoned The Hound somehow. I'm not sure if it would work on the Hound since it's like a Grimm Human Hybrid but I'm really curious to know if this ability works on people and machines.

hey i noticed something, looking at Robyn profile about the low regen, while everyone else has mid low,

and made me realize, what is the best thing that Aura is shown to regen?

Did I forget something about Aura?

The only injure I remember it healing was a scratch. I don't think Jaune's Semblance counts, since he's amplifying their Aura.

Edit: The most impressive regen feat came from Hazel, which doesn't scale to Aura overall.

Very High isn't a rating, I don't know what rating her intelligence would be so I just put above average for safety.
Well considering how longed she lived, the various types of Grimm she created and experimented, as well as how she made a way to siphon Maiden powers I believe she should have something higher.

The same goes for Ozpin as he has Very High on his profile too. Not only is he long lived like Salem, but he was also described as a prodigy and the youngest to become headmaster.

oh no you didn't do anything Rusty its just that everyone has mid low regen on the profiles

and that's what i want to know, why they have Mid low? when they demonstrated it? because to be honest i don't want a downgrade, but if someone doesn't show to me an example on the show, we seriously have to do a crt about this

for normal characters it instantly healed Neon getting a black eye and tyrian breaking his own hand
Aura let them heal from that

"That’s fine. I don’t know either. I’m just giving reasons why I think they both should be higher than Above Average at least."

Ozpin should have gifted if not genius intelligence, the guy has thousands of years of composited combat skill from all of the huntsmen he reincarnated as

"So besides the Fria one, are there any other noteworthy feats that have yet to be calc’d, or is that all of them?"

Nora yeeting yang into the stratosphere
the centinels blowing up the shield generators in volume 8
the blind worm feat from the novel
the hydra taijitu's KE
yang has a decently sized explosion feat in the manga (ones that are cannon)
oobleck blasting paladins with Zwei
the AP of moonslice from the Black Trailer
Oscar's volume 7 feat when he destroyed the bottom of Atlas Academy
the mass of the carrier ship vine lifted
carmine's sandstorm feat from the novel
the AP of the comic manticore
Monstra's KE
Cinder and Raven shaking haven with their clashes
oh, and the AP of the building sized robot elephant from The Session and the grimm wyvern's feat could probably use a recalc to factor in that it caused an earthquake that was felt from Mountain Glenn to Vale
