You were the first one to be aggressive, in the way you're reporting Cursed for ("Honestly this is such an ass debunk, I can't believe you'd waste time writing it"). You are a staff member, and no matter how widely agreed upon something is, it falls to you to make an even greater effort to follow the rules. To me, it reads like you really didn't make an effort at all, here. You took every opportunity to denigrate and accuse the supporters of this verse. Even though I agree with the sentiments of your OP (without looking through the evidence too much), I think your behavior in this thread was demonstrably worse than either of the two you've reported. Being right cannot allow users to be rude. It simply cannot be.

Insofar as the toxicity end of this report goes, I do think action is warranted against Makai (posts like this really suck and shouldn't be tolerated), but I think you, M3X, behaved the worst on the thread, and started it. I'm neutral on action with Cursed, he definitely did say the "low IQ debunk" thing but given it was parroting one of the very first posts by M3X, and I think the worst post from the user (maybe calling M3X 13 years old and lacking reading comprehension is comparable, but eh), I find it hard to pursue hard action when the ball was already rolling several pages before they got there.

Regarding stonewalling: Makai posted here that they were going to sleep, at 1:13, and by 1:30, had sent a further 11 messages. However, it's not like he was the only one posting a ton at the time. In the same timeframe, DaReaperMan (who is not being accused here, for the record, I'm just using him by way of random example) posted 4, and this certainly isn't his own verse. Arkenis posted 5 times. I'm saying this to say that I think there is a realistic case to be made that Makai was stonewalling, but I think the more likely explanation is that he just believes what he's saying and was arguing on many fronts at the same time. A lot of users need to learn to reply to multiple people in one reply, but. It is what it is. I'd be in favor of a warning to just try to do so in the future, so that threads do not become clogged up. I don't find Cursed's actions to strongly resemble stonewalling.

End of the day, I think tensions rose unnecessarily high and everyone involved needs to take a break. Nothing on this site is this serious or worth getting upset over. It's a silly little website for talking about fictional characters, nothing more. Be good, have fun, etc.

Actual admins said they didn’t understand why my point wasn’t adressed, the thread wants to nuke a rating by focusing on one thing but completely leaving aside the justification for Chaos Arthur (Cath) being tier 4

Are you talking about the uwuspeak or the condescension?

Overall, I agree that both parties are sort of at fault for the general toxicity in this thread, and in recognition of that I don't think we necessarily have to hand out any punishments to anyone specific involved so long as it doesn't continue.

I'm not sure how to word this in a way that doesn't set a bad precedent, but actual substantive debate continued alongside the passive-aggressiveness, and in addition to the partial apologies which followed here, I at least think that this was just a debate which got far too heated as opposed to some form of bullying or intentional toxicity, if that makes sense.

I do think that a staff member should go in and comment on the thread itself if they haven't already, encourage civil discussion going forward, etc.

And just to recognize a bit of bias, I do think that if we push for warnings in relation to this incident we'd then need to get HR involved, and I don't think most people want to deal with that kind of hassle if we could civilly move on instead.

I appreciate this message, thank you. And I apologize for any comments I did make, as well as not really replying to multiple people per message. I gave up trying to do that because this site is unstable and constantly reloads, deleting replies I try to type So I try to keep them brief.

This I disagree with, I think you’re exaggerating since I did not attack the person but the argument, might still be unnecessary sure, but not worse than them. But I don’t mind that to dispute it, actions were taken in the end of the day, and the thread is now under control, even though it’s not the outcome I wanted (which is being staff only).

And this I think it’s just giving them an excuse for their behavior. When was Cursed’s first comment? Like page 5? 6? He didn’t even quote my rather ignorant comment, he quoted a regular comment of mine and said “low iq debunk”, he actually started that.

But as I said, I don’t mind the outcome, and actions were taken, anyway.

I simply read through the entire thread and responded when appropriate. Most of it were other’s counter arguments, some were mentioning your, imo, childish behavior, as you created the thread. We should be held to as high a standard as reasonably possible regardless of how irrelevant the topic because these arguments still reflect us as people and how we think/act.

So on this thread, a group of people against the CRT randomly came along at around the 5th page and began derailing the thread with irrelevant comments which don't contribute to the CRT at all and also clowned on the supports of the CRT quite a few times. They've been doing this for about 3 pages and show no signs of slowing down even after multiple requests to stop, i would greatly apricate if staff could delete any derailing comments and maybe even give a warning if necessary

My friend, what are you talking about? The derailment began with Nova telling his friend to ratio @Kebabbaro.1 after he told Nova to address his points or stop commenting meaningless things like a "" emoji in response to his comments, why do you bother twisting the story if all the evidence is there on the thread for staff to see themselves?

If you're taking about the overall tone of the thread being toxic, it's been like that since the very beginning and both sides we're, though technically Nova did start it by insulting us and calling us "suffocatingly obtuse"

But regardless on who actually started it, it does not in anyway justify organizing mass derailment of a thread

Also, a lot of the derailment was just completely irrelevant stuff, like, you guys we're on about Neoplatonism and LOTM at one point, so trying to paint it as a response to my "passive aggressiveness" is already disingenuous since most of it had no correlation with that

I'd mostly point out how the derailment went on both sides for the mods. Primarily, though, I'd like to point out how crude language such as this

Both sides of the "opposition" and supporters are responsible for the derailment; I'm not pointing out one group in specific. I'm not sure why okstrike kept bringing up PSW, Toxic and existent/non-existent drama irrelevant to the thread.

But I just thought it'd be nice to point out that the derailment wasn't particularly shown by one side, contrary to the same person dropping in the report over derailment. That being said, I'd appreciate it if the mods delete the messages, save for the important ones. I was thinking about asking the mods to delete the derailed messages anyway, since I wouldn't want the responses I, Nova, and others made to be clogged down.

I would say this comment was the first domino, even if it isn't so bad.

Some responses seem too quick to fly off the rip (here), but I'm willing to gloss over that seeing as they did not start it. I don't think they should have carried on, like so, but SuperNova555 also carried on and did so with less substance of actual debate. ExcelsisBerny's comments (starting about here) also really suck and also shouldn't be tolerated. It's just personal insults. Even if a CRT truly sucks (not saying this one does or does not, I don't care to look into it), you can't just farm it for likes by being a dick. If their points are awful, counter them and be done.

I'm not going to say that OkStrike (et al) aren't also doing it, but again, I find it really hard to judge it as harshly when they are being aggressed upon by lots and lots of other random users trying to farm likes. I can't fault them too much when they are being dogpiled like that.

I think SuperNova555 has a point to make, but they choose to act childish at every opportunity while making it. I would be in favor of at least a warning for their behavior, I find it pointlessly instigatory, even if they were otherwise engaging in debate (sometimes). ExcelsisBerry also should receive a warning for how significant their contributions to the discussion were. I would also issue a broad warning to everyone else involved (including Okstrike, and other CM supporters) to just knock it off. It's a CRT. It is not meant to bicker over. In theory it is meant for staff to evaluate. Bickering makes it even less likely that any staff will interact. Presuming all parties have the ideals of the wiki in mind, and are arguing in good faith, this means bickering is only ever a lose-lose.

One, i apologies for the lapdog message, but this isn't towards you or Mgq, why do you assume such when it's obviously meant towards the people who called the thread "power wank" and insulted it out of nowhere (Eg, Bern) without engaging with it at all?

Two, lapdog is a common metaphor for a lackey or yes-men, don't twist it's meaning to make it seem like i called them animals

Three, Grath wared everyone in general, so trying to report me over toxicity in response to your mates toxicity doesn't help your case

Supposing you don't mean me or MGQ, why would one assume that the people involved are Toxic's (PSW founder) lapdogs, hmm? Someone who has nothing to do with any of this? I see it as unproductive to bring him up over such matters.

The entire reason is that I entered the thread, debated it for a bit, ya'll began saying stuff like "you should've actually read the blog lol", and realized that it was very pointless in my end and decided to end it right there rather than dragging it, since I knew that the judgment of the thread completely depended on whatever Ultima thought of it anyways. And voila, look how it ended up.

And I won't be responding any further here, I'm very aware you're not supposed to be debating stuff on RVR, so I'll just accept whatever the mods deem fit. That is all.

My guy, Nova literally asked for people to ratio our comments by mass upvoting them, this has nothing to do supporting or not supporting it, and these weren't substantial comments that had anything to do with the debate, they were derailing ones that came after Nova stopped leaving counter points

I haven't done anything that warrants a single bit of apprehension on my end, so you're free to do whatever it is that you like.

I would say this comment was the first domino, even if it isn't so bad.

Some responses seem too quick to fly off the rip (here), but I'm willing to gloss over that seeing as they did not start it. I don't think they should have carried on, like so, but SuperNova555 also carried on and did so with less substance of actual debate. ExcelsisBerny's comments (starting about here) also really suck and also shouldn't be tolerated. It's just personal insults. Even if a CRT truly sucks (not saying this one does or does not, I don't care to look into it), you can't just farm it for likes by being a dick. If their points are awful, counter them and be done.

I'm not going to say that OkStrike (et al) aren't also doing it, but again, I find it really hard to judge it as harshly when they are being aggressed upon by lots and lots of other random users trying to farm likes. I can't fault them too much when they are being dogpiled like that.

I think SuperNova555 has a point to make, but they choose to act childish at every opportunity while making it. I would be in favor of at least a warning for their behavior, I find it pointlessly instigatory, even if they were otherwise engaging in debate (sometimes). ExcelsisBerry also should receive a warning for how significant their contributions to the discussion were. I would also issue a broad warning to everyone else involved (including Okstrike, and other CM supporters) to just knock it off. It's a CRT. It is not meant to bicker over. In theory it is meant for staff to evaluate. Bickering makes it even less likely that any staff will interact. Presuming all parties have the ideals of the wiki in mind, and are arguing in good faith, this means bickering is only ever a lose-lose.

It got heated on all sides, but Excelsis is the only one who forgoes debate and any point entirely to focus on insulting people and derailing the thread.

SuperNova to me has some of the same but far less severe, they were being kind of snarky, but not nearly to the same extent; their comments come off as partially joking. I think their warning should focus more on the derailing aspect for all the posts with no substance.

So, in short, I think Excelsis should get warnings for toxicity and derailing, and SuperNova just for derailing.
The entire thread should get a general instruction to calm down and stay on topic.

Excuse me but wasn't it acknowledged both sides derailed already? From what I see toxicity happened when both sides started to go off topic. Now you are giving one side "warning" for toxicity while completely ignoring another side's toxicity. If anything I guess it would be better to let it go since both sides are equally guilty here. You can't say "One hand can clap alone", so I can't get exact reason of warning one side while ignoring another one.

Acknowledging now that Okstrike's comments against SuperNova (and vice versa) are part of a continued trend, I'd more support a direct warning to Okstrike as well. Neither of them should pursue this petty feud at the expense of a thread's ability to be resolved. I now interpret SuperNova's comments less as just farming likes to outright trying to pursue this feud, and Okstrike's comments as taking much the same opportunity.

I no longer felt comfortable advocating for warning SuperNova specifically in the conflict, but if we want to swing that conclusion the other way around and warn both of them I'd be fine with that too. I just don't want it to seem like we're picking sides in their drama.

Agreed. The infighting really needs to stop. People in our community should make a greater effort to be nice to each other and get along. Picking "sides" in the context of that one fictional story should reach supremacy over another fictional story is pointless. We index statistics, yes, but the literary merit and enjoyability of a story is not measured by statistics, often quite the opposite.

Sorry i haven't been able respond, i've been busy over the last few days for personal reasons, and have had little time for the forum

But anyways, I didn’t really want this to be about the toxicity of the thread itself since i only came here so that any derailing messages could be delated, the toxicity was almost inevitable from the start due to our long standing history and hate of each others guts, but if staff deem it as something worth a warning, than i don’t believe one side should be favored over the other in anyway; both me and friends did say some bad things that we apologies for, and so did the other side

Since people mentioned it, yes, i did engage somewhat with the derailing comments, mostly just defending myself from insults and calling what Nova was doing dumb, and while it was annoying, i didn’t say anything about the derailment itself up to that point, that is, until one of Nova’s mates unpromptedly tried bringing up drama from months ago, at which point i decided enough was enough and told them to stop, they ignored me and kept going, and that is when i came here, so you can’t use that as an excuse to justify the derailment

The comment points out how you are wrong in your premise and that you should be familiar with the earthquake table, since you are a member with the authority to evaluate calculations. Not to mention the underestimation of the other feats, though that doesn’t matter as much.
