Roronoa Zoro can delete his memories.

Should get memory manip for it

Which type tho?
  • Mental manipulation: Affecting memory through the consciousness/mind. Allows managing memory in a variety of ways (comprehending, modifying, deleting existing memories, as well as creating new memories). This also includes modification of memory by controlling the electrochemical signals of the brain
  • Biochemical manipulation: Affecting memory through brain cells, making it possible to manage memory. Allows managing memory in a variety of ways (comprehending, modifying, deleting existing memories, as well as creating new memories).

There's no way of knowing, though most likely Mental Manip

Seems like Biochemical similar to how Zoro can manipulate his muscles and body

It's definitely a gag, but choosing to forget stuff isn't the same as erasing a memory like that.
This is completely different... Zoro has literally never used this "ability" ever again and he clearly still remembers Kokoro, he's just intentionally trying to forget his own mental image of her, but that's not a special ability, he's just trying to not think about her, which is a basic capability of a brain

Not to mention that Chopper is the one saying this and are we really saying Chopper can now read minds?

Zoro's dogshit directions are a gag and we have that as a legitimate weakness on his profile
That's a more consistent character trait though.

Sanji setting himself on fire the very first time could be viewed as just a gag; but him doing it consistently and as part of his fighting style makes it a legit ability instead.

Ok that's fair

I don't remember if he ever recalls kokoro, at the very least not the fact that she's a mermaid.

Erasing/deleting a memory the way the gag plays out isn't the same as just trying to forget something.

the problem isn't that it's one-off, it's the fact that's it's played for a gag ONCE and never actually shown or hinted at again.

Like to me, this seems the same as Nami being able to smack around Luffy, despite his blunt force resistance. Just a funny moment, nothing more.

The difference with that is that Nami's confirmed to not be able to do this and earlier she had to resort to poking him since physical attacks don't work.

This is a one-off because he doesn't need to do it again. He's never put in that position again to do it
