Riku (Kingdom Hearts) vs Ares (SMITE)

The thing with Ares is he is a WAR God. The more violent the struggle the more powerful he is. Fighting him is not an easy one, especially as he can cut off most means of escape with his chains and FORCE you to fight him and with his sword, chains, and flames, can wrack up a lot of damage fast on top of a passive healing factor.
On the other hand, Riku is probably on the faster side, but probably not near as hard hitting or tanky, but has a little more versatility in what he can do hax wise.
One thing Riku will have issue with is, in their setting, he can't exactly turn mortals away from worshipping ares which would drain the war God's power. He is locked in their with a raging power house. BUT while Ares is a master at war, he can be prideful to a fault, and that can be used against him, although its hard to say how much of a weakness this is now after his "redemption arc" during the war against Cthulu.
So my money comes down to Ares. Given the environment, there is little Riku can do to avoid being locked down into direct combat with Ares. Riku's speed and versatility may hinder Ares for a bit, but the war God's tenacity, mounting offenses, healing factor, and methods of preventing Riku from distancing himself means that if he can lock Riku down, there is little Riku can realistically do, unless he can bait a stupidity move from ares out of pride, but tempting his pride can also backfire so its not a guarantee if it will help.
