Regarding outliers

Let's say that Bob has been shown many times to resist a specific type of ability, and that he has also resisted much stronger versions of this ability, AND it's stated and shown that his species can resist said specific ability pretty well. However, in one scene that's considered very important and gets brought up a lot in his story and other canon material, Bob actually gets damaged badly or even dies after being struck with a weaker version of said specific ability. Would we consider all the mentions and statements of his resistances to the ability be an outlier, or the scene that's very important to the story be an outlier? I've seen a lot of people discuss which one is an outlier, so I'm wondering how is this treated on the wiki.

it's called bad writing, and I'm pretty sure the more consistent end would just be use if the scaling directly contradicts itself like that
