Ram Revisions

Stealth Mastery?
  • Ram can scatter her presence in all directions and slip into her opponents blind spots
Ram: “Isn’t it obvious. ーーIt is because any title aside from Rem’s nee-sama is unneeded for Ram.”
Declaring with apparent disgust, Ram twisted her frame as her elbow rebuff drilled into the air.
Slashed upon touch, broke bones upon striking, a fearsome technique which pierced even into the insides, this was being performed lacking all frugality, as she fired a chain of strikes utilising all of her limbs.
It wasn’t a move governed by simply physical ability or technique.
Had it been brought forth by pure finesse, then Batenkaitos, who reconstructed all kinds of techniques of the past and the present, of east and west relying on the『Memories』of eaten opponents, could’ve surely dealt with it.
However, Ram’s battle techniques marked a concise difference from that.
“ーーーー”
Stepping in, the elbow or knee strikes which Ram fired changed their velocity midway through. That was because Ram clad herself in wind magic which she specialised in, and wove truth and myth together in the midst of the battle.
Accelerating or decelerating speed with wind, she derailed Batenkaitos’ cognisance as he counterattacked. In the end, Ram utilised wind and scattered her presence in all directions, and whilst slipping into the opponent’s blind spot with nimble carriage of her body, struck countless fatal blows-Arc 6, Chapter 82

Extrasensory Perception
  • Can sense mana
Therefore, they lurked in darkness, erased their presence, silenced their noise, and had knowledge of techniques to draw near unnoticed.
It would be correct to say, that at the point of the first ambush, victory and defeat had already been incised.
Faint quiescence was mingled into the atmospheric mana, by the time her horn had sensed that aberration, it had already been far too late.-Arc 6, Chapter 83

Damage Transferal
  • Can share her burdens with Rem
Dust enveloped the hole in the wall she had shattered through, and instant after he tried to concentrate his vision in that direction, his face was seized by her palm with velocity that deserted even sound.
And, from a close proximity, he gazed at the opponent possessing a tight grip of his cheeks and jawーー,
Ley: “Nee, -sama……”
Ram: “Unfortunately, Ram’s little sister is asleep in the interior. Ram knows with clarity, due to『Synesthesia』.”
Ley: “Synes, the……?”
Ram: “It is『Synesthesia』. Ram and Rem were chum sisters, isn’t it. Delight or rage, sadness or pain, things like those could be shared amongst. ーーThe reactivation of a broken horn, and its recoil as well.”
He did not distinctly understand, what meaning it held.
Merely, what Batenkaitos had witnessed with these eyes, had been affirmed.
Before being knocked off his feet, what he had observed on the forehead of the『Sleeping Beauty』leaning on the wall, was a white hornーー the singular asset preponderating her elder sister, that Oni girl possessed by birth.
Because that existed, because that glowed, because that communicated, what purport would it hold.-Arc 6, Chapter 83

Analytical Prediction/Precognition
  • With her clairvoyance, she can basically link her senses with people and know where their focus is, eye movements, the part wherein strength was being poured, by synthesising these she can predict her opponents attacks with greater ease than reading the mind.
A roar into time, after having been hurled by her kick, Batenkaitos rebounded towards Ram whilst smiling.
Utilising the might of the seeming『Leaper』, the magical technique erased the existing distance in-between in the span of a blink of an eyeーー however, even that technique of phantom teleportation was rendered futile should it get viewed in its entirety by the opponent.
Ram: “You certainly are slow, sluggard. At this rate, Ram will become an old woman.”
She purloined the opponent’s field of vision with『Clairvoyance』.
The opponent’s focus, eye movements, the part wherein strength was being poured, by synthesising these she could read the aim with greater ease than reading the mind.-Arc 6, Chapter 86
Invisibility

  • Learned Rai's invisible blade technique (Rai should have this too)
Ley: “It can’t be……”
Avoiding the blade that had slightly cut his finger, Batenkaitos attempted to advance his feet further towards the interiorーー his tiptoes were blown off, and he inclined backwards whilst shrieking “Ahii ~hk”.
And, with the inclining back of his head also slightly whittled, he rigidified his face and stood still.
ーーHe was enclosed, by invisible blades.
Ley: “……Haha, seriously?”
He had shown it to her, merely once.
Once in the midst of battle, that too it was an invisible technique, so she must not have seen it either.
Moreover, she had not ever practically even stepped foot in this place. Yet regardless, she had seized this side’s escape route, and had stationed invisible blades in advance.-Arc 6, Chapter 86

Minor Word Adjustment
  • We learn a lot about Ram's power, about her feeling like she was possessed by the Oni God and what not, anyway essentially, there are shackles on her strength which she can remove, thus getting stronger, but the recoil from each shackle, means she ordinarily can't use it for long ie what happen vs Garfiel, so instead of her being rated higher in Oni Form, should be higher via removing shackles.

Rai Batenkaitos

Genius Intelligence
  • Rai has ate every possible kind of excelling, transcending talent, history, potentiality in the world, and is stated that even thousands of years later, there won't be anyone who excels in every single kind of ability like him.
For the『Gourmet』who utterly ate every possible kind of excelling, transcending talent, history, potentiality in this worldーー all until the very horizons of『Gourmet Delicacies』, and persisted in amassing it all within oneself, is precisely whom Ley Batenkaitos was.
Thus on this day, what was born in the tower situated at the eastern edge of the world, was a warlock agglutinated with every technique and odd talent, regardless of heredity and posteriori.
The warlock possessed arms which destroyed all, possessed a flesh body which did not accept any type of attacks, possessed magical arts which rejected and countered back any possible technique, and was endowed with even the wisdom, genius and intellect grasping everything that existed.
No matter how extensive a survey should be taken of history, never had there been a being who excelled in every single kind of ability to this extent, and neither will any other take birth hereafter, for thousands of years to come.-Arc 6, Chapter 86

Od=Soul

  • Od is stated many times to be the soul
Echidna: “That is close to the relationship between the present you and Beatrice. What’s different from you two is that Ana’s body has no receptacle to receive Mana at all. In order for her to maintain her contract with me she has no choice but to spend her Od.”

Subaru: “Hm, hm?”

He thought of that explanation as roughly the same as what he had heard before. However, Echidna believed Subaru’s understanding was rather shallow, so she put a finger on her chest and,

Echidna: “This state is equivalent to me manifesting in Ana’s stead. Which means Ana’s Od is being eaten up at an increased rate. Even now, moment by moment, Ana’s Od is being grated.”

Subaru: “I believe Od was, like, the soul itself of the person…… which means.”

Echidna: “On top of assenting the dangers of having a contract with me, Ana took my hand. Ever since then, I hypothesised that some day the end would arrive…… but now is, rather soon.”-Arc 6, Chapter 32

Those connected together with『Synesthesia』shared mighty sentiments, or even wounds and agony at times.
Though she was ignorant of its principle, this hypothesis was there within a book in Beatrice’s forbidden archive which she had once read in the past.
ーーThat what was termed as『Synesthesia』, operated with the connection of the Od between two differing individuals.
What was termed as the Od, was the source of power existing in the depths of the humanーー it could also be synonymous for the soul.
Though on instances it was also used in place of mana as power for utilising magic, originally, the Od was the pure property itself that made the human be human.
The consequence of having a territory that shan’t be trespassed by anyone, that mutually linked those born of the same womb, perhaps resulted in『Synthesia』, so propounded the theory-Arc 6, Chapter 86

“It is very close to the mark. Our physical replica bodies are created by a ritual, using artificial odo at its core. Enshrouding mana around this core materializes these bodies into being.” “Odo, that was the power in the body, as distinct from the mana that floats in the atmosphere, wasn’t it?” “Odo rests within all that lives. Accordingly, it is even said that odo is proof of the soul.” The mismatched gravity with which the young voice spoke the words made Subaru unwittingly draw in his breath. If odo was proof of the soul, then using a ritual to create it was surely— “This is kind of putting it lightly, but ain’t that…creating life?” “Of course, rather special conditions must be in order to make such a phenomenon possible-Volume 12, Chapter 2

Why is this all important? Because in a battle between spirits the goal was to rip through the opponent’s mana and crush their Od

“This is… Even more of a problem than I thought.”
Tossed about by the shockwave, Puck grimaced with his ears and tail shaking.
The forest around them was now completely unrecognizable, but Puck who was at the epicenter didn’t appear to be wounded at all.
To begin with, the concept of injury itself was meaningless to spirits. To spirits, damage was something that only occurred when something tore through the defenses of their materialization and harmed the Od that was the core of their being.
Unless they lost their Od, spirits would not die no matter what happened to them. Or to put it another way, in a battle between spirits, the goal was to rip through the opponent’s mana and crush their Od.-Bond of Ice, Chapter 3

Puck demonstrates this by ripping out Melakuera's Od and was holding it

“What, What―!”
Puck was engulfed by the flames, and immediately after Emilia screamed, Melakuera who was supposed to have the advantage suddenly had his torso swell from the inside. His torso formed from flames swelled to the point of bursting, and finally flowers of ice bloomed from it as if ripping through the flame.
Puck had slipped into the flaming horse’s body, and created a beautiful explosion of powerful magic from within.
“And this is what you call roasting the flesh and crushing the Od.”
“Imposs, ible… That Phrase, I, Unknown―”
“I just thought of it as I said it, you see.”
As the astonished flame ruptured, Puck who was still in good health inside it was holding a red light.
A light that could be held by Puck who was small enough to fit in a palm― That was the core of a spirit, the Od. To a spirit it was the source of their life, and when exposed it was also a fatal weak point.-Bond of Ice, Chapter 4

In short spirits like Puck should get soul manipulation.

Top Tier Speed Upgrades

  • Volcanica attack so fast that Emilia didn't know what even happened. A comparison is made between the speed of Volcanica's attack and Subaru's whip, if Subaru’s whip counts for one, then Volcanica’s tail whip counts for a thousand or ten thousand
Emilia: “Ah.”

The seven ice warriors in Emilia’s environs, who had been turned upside down, shattered at once.
All of them had solely their heads shattered with skill, transforming into the form of mana unable to resist. By the point of having sensed that by her skin, Emilia took notice with a shudder.

This just now, had been Volcanica’s tail.
Volcanica’s tail had swiftly swept Emilia’s legs, and had smashed the heads of the ice warriors with the same.
Her throat froze upon comprehending that a singular swift whip by the tail had realized that.

This was in an entirely different league from the surprise attack Emilia had instantaneously managed to guard against.
If Subaru’s whip counted for one, then Volcanica’s tail whip counted for a thousand or ten thousand, that was the margin of difference.
Even Emilia would have been relentlessly defeated before that enormous attack.-Arc 6, Chapter 87
Whips can move at like 2x the speed of sound, so that would make Volcanica at minimum mach 2000, or even mach 20000. Question is which to use.

This would scale to Satella, Reid, and Reinhard. Sehkmet too i guess, since she was able to drive Volcanica away.

Stealth Mastery?
No. Nothing about what she did here is her being stealthy. That "scatter her presence" shit is very misleading. The word being translated as 'presence' is 気配 which can also mean 'indication', 'sign', 'hint', or 'trend', all of which are way more likely when you consider what is said before: "Accelerating or decelerating speed with wind, she derailed Batenkaitos’ cognisance as he counterattacked."

Again, no. Od is not one's soul.

The 1st quote is Subaru saying that "Od was, like, the soul itself" which is a dodgy ass statement. First off all, how did Subaru arrive at this conclusion? He's certainly not one to be well versed with the world's magic system and what he says about it we should be skeptical of. It also doesn't help he's using a word as vague as "like". Hell, Scarfdona didn't even affirm what he said really.

The 2nd quote isn't much better as all it says is "it could also be synonymous for the soul", which is even vaguer, and being synonymous with something is different than being the same thing as. The rest of the quote just makes it sound like Od is essence.

The 3rd quote I would even say is a counterargument on its owns. Say, if Od is proof of the soul, wouldn't that mean that Od and soul are inherently connected but different?

We know well enough what an Od is:
[Beatrice: It can’t be helped, so I will give an explanation. od is a life stone…….it’s a source of magical power that spirits, humans, mabeasts, and any other type of life have within them, no doubt about it, I suppose. od is like a type of vessel for magical power, so it’s also an organ that saves up the mana taken in from gate.]

[Subaru: Hmmm, a vessel that stockpiles magic. Go ahead and continue.]

[Beatrice: The way you’re speaking irritates me, I suppose….. Anyways, we’re dealing with a great amount of mana of outstanding od. However, there’s a limit to any type of vessel’s capacity, I suppose. And the mana that overflows because of the od meeting its limit…….it’s necessary to emit it before that happens.]
~ Some Like it Cold

This certainly doesn't sound like what a soul is. If we were to off of everything we learned in arc 6, then soul = memories + name.

This conflation of Od and soul is in fact best explained by this quote:
She has no body, but she can touch light. It's a weird sensation.

But she has no other way to express it. If she did, then she might simply be invisible to herself and instead have a body constructed of primal magic—she may just be od.

If her od is what holds her consciousness and soul, then that does somewhat explain her current condition.
~ Arc 4, Chapter 125B

If Od is in actuality what holds one's consciousness and soul together, it wouldn't be hard to figure out why it would be synonymous with the soul. You could also say that it could be synonymous with the consciousness, which is something that's kind of been implied in the case of Od Lagna, the Od of the world:
Roswaal: “One theory states that Od Lagna is the consciousness that rules over everything in the world. And though it warrants scepticism, perhaps Od Lagna could be the one bestowing people with BLESSINGS—is the nonsense that people have come up with.”
~ Arc 4, INTERLUDE: EMILIA FACTION • WARLOCK • SPIRIT • SPIRITUALIST

Sure it may be a supposed theory Roswaal regards as nonsense on the surface, but the latter part at least is something the author confirmed to be true long ago.

I'm confident I'm missing some stuff here, but tl;dr is that, while Od is conflated with the soul, it's its own, different thing.

Question is which to use.
If the quote says "or" then we say "or" as well. You can't just arbitrarily choose one.

Anyway, I was planning on running the raws for this through one of our Japanese translators but got lazy. I'll get to it tomorrow because I want to get something checked but it's 2AM over here.

If it holds the consciousness and the soul, wouldn't shattering it, destroy both those things?

Translators on this wiki or like for the series? I do know someone on this wiki who can do it.

I still think it would be 'presence' but eh.

Everything here seems fine.

I have no comment on the "Od" being a soul, because I really don't know.

If it holds the consciousness and the soul, wouldn't shattering it, destroy both those things?
Yes, but there is a substantial difference between the soul being destroyed as a consequence of the Od being destroyed. Hell, it was stated that even regular death will result in your soul shattering:
“ーーMemories of『Death』.”

Not supposed to exist. Absolutely unattainable, there existed the memories of『Death』 and beyond.

This was principally dissimilar to something like near-death experiences, which were like cheap test tours. A phenomenon established due to the『Soul』shattering, life slashed into a thousand fragments, the lifeline terminating in its true essence.

The other side of the River of Three Crossings, the border of the living world and netherworld, which was impossible to rebound from. Neither swimming through it nor striding across it, the『Memories』of redoing the life supposed to have been robbed awayーー.

“ーー『Return by Death』.”
~ Arc 6, Chapter 75
Translators on this wiki or like for the series? I do know someone on this wiki who can do it.
There are people on the wiki who know Japanese, they appear to be inactive though. I've already kinda gone over this with other translators, I'll figure it out.

Don't know what happened with Oppai and the translation, however arc 7 basically explained something that happened at the end of arc 6, so thought to add it here.

Julius: [Well, though I wouldn’t be able to explain them in great detail, that shadow was the product of Yin Magic… Or at the very least, the Yin Attribute. It should be the same sort that’s sealing the likes of the Witch of Envy in her shrine, and Roy Alphard in the Dragon Carriage. If we presume this to be the case, then as for our resident expert…]
Beatrice: […That would be Betty, I suppose. My prognosis isn’t all that different from Julius’ either, in fact. That thing was a clump of Yin, I suppose. It’s close to a Shamac that’s been given direction, in fact.]
Echidna: [Shamac? Isn’t that the basic magic of the Yin Attribute? How was it then so powerful?]
Beatrice: […I knew there was going to be quite a few humans who’d misunderstand since there are hardly any users of it. However, it’s troubling that even you think of it like that, when you’re a Spirit like me, in fact.]
Echidna, who had taken up her white-fox form, was stared at reproachfully by Beatrice, causing her to cower her head. Giving a sigh at her reaction, Beatrice raised one of her fingers and said: “May I, I suppose?”
Beatrice: [Shamac’s special quality is in “Separation”, in fact. A low-grade Shamac separates one’s body from their awareness, whereas a high-grade Shamac rends space from itself, I suppose. Betty’s Door Crossing is one such application, linking two rooms together, and achieving something close to teleportation, in fact.]-Arc 7, Chapter 1
Ram: [That was the contraption Beatrice-sama had set up in the previous mansion. It was a real pain having to call her for mealtimes, so to be quite honest, I’d gotten fed up with it.]
Beatrice: [It really upsets Betty that you’d say that so honestly right here, right now, I suppose. I do believe I am sorry about it, but the apologies can wait until later… Anyways, Shamac, in essence, can separate space from space if so inclined; as well as that, it can separate objects, no matter how strong they are. It’s the Witch of Envy’s speciality, in fact.]
Anastasia: [From your explanation, aren’t you saying that Natsuki-kun and Rem-san have been scattered into pieces?]
If that shadow was as deadly as that, then what she’d said felt just like something that branded Subaru and Rem’s survival, who’d been swallowed by it, as being hopeless.
Beatrice however shook her head at Anastasia’s question.
Beatrice: [What I mentioned right now was an allegory, I suppose. At least, that shadow wasn’t something that was set to chop Subaru and Rem into pieces, in fact. But it was going to take them within and whisk them away somewhere, I suppose.]-Arc 7, Chapter

Essentially Shamac is a spell that separates things, at the most basic, it can sperate the body from awareness, at a high level it can separate space from itself. Satella is stated to be a specialist in this, so she should have Spatial Manipulation.

Can somebody remind us what we need to do here with a summary please?

Oppai is inactive for a month so idk what they are doing, but this is what should be added.

Ram should get extrasensory perception, analytical prediction, damage transferal, and invisibility.

Rai's intelligence should be genius.

Satella should have spatial manipulation.

Reinhard, Reid, Satella should be upgrade to sub-relativistic based on Volcanica being 10,000x faster than Subaru's whip, the whip is explicitly stated to be supersonic in the recent arc 7 chapters so its solid.

Spirits getting soul manipulation was still being discussed, when spirits fight they fight to destroy their od's, the od being what contains the consciousness and soul. Oppai thinks destroying od is different from destroying the soul cause it's not the soul, it just contains it, i think its semantics really.

Seems good.

Stealth Mastery?
This doesn't seem like Stealth Mastery. It's like an elaborate version of concealing your presence, so more like resistance to Extrasensory Perception/Enhanced Senses. Or just her manipulating her aura/magic/energy or what this verse uses to use to sense their opponents. Unless they don't have things like "ki sensing" and this is talking about some more abstract "presence" in which case I guess I don't see a better option then just Stealth Mastery. And if what Oppai says it's true, it'd be more like Perception Manipulation or something.

In short spirits like Puck should get soul manipulation.
Well this point seems to be contested, as I don't know anything on the verse can't really comment here on verse mechanics and whether it would count or not. Unless you and Oppai reached a conclusion?

Whips can move at like 2x the speed of sound, so that would make Volcanica at minimum mach 2000, or even mach 20000. Question is which to use.
The description didn't sound very literal, more like just hype for how fast they were. We don't really give out x1000 and x10000 multipliers off of single statements like this, unless they have feats associated with them. So unless they have something more tangible than this, I don't think anything more than "far higher" is appropriate.

Oppai isn't active anymore.

The argument boiled down to od not being the soul, but being what contains the soul. Oppai thought that destroying the soul is different from the soul being destroyed as result of od which contains it being destroyed.

As for speed, that's the only statement, only thing you use to support it is Volcanica being>Ceilis who is lightning speed. But there is some contention there whether its just hyperbole

With a pleasant smile, Cecils calmly drew one of the swords at his hip. Then he took a single, nonchalant step toward Julius and vanished.
An instant later, faster than lightning, he delivered a blow that transcended all perception.
“Hrrgh!” Julius only just managed to block this first strike with the upraised hilt of his saber. He hadn’t deflected it consciously; it was an instinctive reaction, one born of the heightened reflexes granted to him by his greater spirits. Julius had been forced to use his trump card at the very first exchange.
“My! You managed to block that? You kingdom warriors are more capable than I thought.”
Julius, keenly aware of the pain in his arm, registered the now-distant Cecils’s surprise. The general had widened the gap again as quickly as he had closed it. His movements were almost instantaneous, truly as fast as lightning. Such speed certainly lived up to his title.-Ex Novel 4

That single exchange was enough to convey Reinhard’s unparalleled strength. Eyes shining, Cecils disappeared again. He went as fast as his namesake, then even faster. Multiple images of the man in the blue kimono began to appear until it seemed as though Reinhard was against an army of a hundred. It was beyond anything Julius’s defensive reflexes might have been able to respond to. This surely must have been Cecils’s last resort.-Ex Novel 4

Julius amping himself to be "as fast as lightning", same thing he used before to keep up with Cecils

It happened before Julius could even register that it was coming. From the tip of the spear Balleroy had pointed at him, a magic missile of colorless light erupted. It was the same kind of attack the general had used when sniping atop his dragon mount. The charge, aiming, and firing all took such a short time that it was almost artistic. The projectile flew at Julius’s chest with no sound or warning.
The purple-haired knight could see a furious intent to kill in Balleroy’s eyes, and Julius pushed the limit of his reactions until they were as fast as lightning. The blade of his saber just brushed the magic missile, nudging it off course so that it only collided with Julius’s shoulder. At the very least, the knight had avoided a mortal wound…-Ex Novel 4

There is also the light speed stuff with Jiwald, it does have properties of real light, but Ex Novel characters scaling is an outlier, a God tier like Reid though is a different question, so might have been hasty with just downgrading everyone. Might be a discussion for another time.

The argument boiled down to od not being the soul, but being what contains the soul. Oppai thought that destroying the soul is different from the soul being destroyed as result of od which contains it being destroyed.
Well it does sound like they had a point. If you destroy the container of the soul which leads to a chain reaction that destroys the soul, you're interacting with a verse mechanic not the soul itself, that won't really be translated into soul manip besides a technicality. Even if they were to get it, it wouldn't really be combat applicable to other verses (unless they have a similar verse mechanic that would be equalized to this) since they never interacted with the actual soul itself.
As for speed, that's the only statement, only thing you use to support it is Volcanica being>Ceilis who is lightning speed. But there is some contention there whether its just hyperbole
Those lightning statements are weird as well. The first one has him go "faster than lightning" and "truly as fast as lightning" in the same paragraph, kinda indicating that it's more hype than literal. And in the third one he managed to dodge a light beam due to being "fast as lightning" again pointing that this is probably just hyperbole and not really literal. So these don't strike me as very solid personally.

Ok, I guess I'll get back to this.

Let us reexamine the quotes about od:

Ever since then, I hypothesised that some day the end would arrive…… but now is, rather soon.”
-Arc 6, Chapter 32
Here Subaru stated that od is the soul iself. But, Subaru is a person from our world who wouldn't know anything about this world's magic system, and whatever he knows about od he must have learned through his year and some months of being isekaid. So where did he hear this from? Well, one of the times he's been informed about od by this world's residents is another one of the quotes from the OP:
“It is very close to the mark. Our physical replica bodies are created by a ritual, using artificial odo at its core. Enshrouding mana around this core materializes these bodies into being.”
“Odo, that was the power in the body, as distinct from the mana that floats in the atmosphere, wasn’t it?”
“Odo rests within all that lives. Accordingly, it is even said that odo is proof of the soul.”
The mismatched gravity with which the young voice spoke the words made Subaru unwittingly draw in his breath. If odo was proof of the soul, then using a ritual to create it was surely—
“This is kind of putting it lightly, but ain’t that…creating life?”
“Of course, rather special conditions must be in order to make such a phenomenon possible
-Volume 12, Chapter 2
This here isn't anything concrete — Ryuzu simply stated that od is considered to be proof of the soul; doesn't really mean much. Another time was when Beako explained to Subaru what od is in Memory Snow, but — and this is a big 'but' — that story seems to be LN exclusive and did not happen in the WN, which we are using as our source. However, there is a statement in chapter 42 of arc 2 of the WN where Puck states that "od is literally the power of the soul", though that's not how it was in the LN. Still, I'd consider this to be vague and kind of meaningless. What's more is that after checking the LN raws and looking at the conversation between Subaru and Scarfdona from the first quote, I found that it was changed, or rather Subaru's line about od was cut out, likely due to the aforementioned LN and WN differences.

This leaves is with only one more quote:
The consequence of having a territory that shan’t be trespassed by anyone, that mutually linked those born of the same womb, perhaps resulted in『Synthesia』, so propounded the theory
-Arc 6, Chapter 86
Right off the bat, "Ram read some theory in some book that od is synonymous for the soul" is a rather poor source to cite. Especially when a quick search reveals that synonyms for the word soul include: conscience, spirit, essence, spiritual being, psyche, and so on. But actually, after checking the raws and some alternatives to WCT's translations, it would appear that what's rather being said here is that od is the soul:
—Synesthesia referred to the way in which the Od’s of two different individuals were connected and functioned as one.

The Od was also referred to as the source of a human beings power that existed deep inside of them—in other words, the soul. There were times when it also served as an energy source for magic instead of mana, but originally, one’s Od was the life-energy that made a human a human.
~ Arc 6, Chapter 86 (by Eminent Translations)
Not that I'd think of Eminent's translations as better than WCT's, in fact rather the opposite, but both make a lot of mistakes and this appears to be closer to what was actually said. Honestly, this is the best proof so far of od = soul, thought it doesn't change that the real source is a dismissed theory in a random book somewhere.

Moving on to the speed section.

Alright, I understand @Ogbunabali's reservation about the quote in question. What originally had me fixated on it was the use of a specific word — 桁違い — which can mean "an order of magnitude higher". This is the word used to describe the difference in speed and power between 1) Subaru's whip and Volcanica's tail whip attack the first time around, 2) the increase in the power and speed of his attacks after he woke up a little bit, and 3) to again compare Volcanica's attacks after he'd gotten a bit more serious to Subaru's whip in the following quote:
This was in an entirely different league from the surprise attack Emilia had instantaneously managed to guard against.
If Subaru’s whip counted for one, then Volcanica’s tail whip counted for a thousand or ten thousand, that was the margin of difference.
Even Emilia would have been relentlessly defeated before that enormous attack.
-Arc 6, Chapter 87
And yes, I'm not blind, I can see that 桁違い can also generically mean "in a different league" as it is translated here, but the explicit mention of "a thousand or ten thousand", which are orders of 10, led at least me to believe that the first meaning could be the intended one. Well, I went and asked around some translators, like here, and the gist was "Yeah, 'an order of magnitude higher' is an acceptable translation, but not what I'd go for." Well, if nothing else, mid tiers should at least get a "likely way higher" for their speed rating for Emilia being able to dodge Volcanica's attacks in his super sleepy state, which were still much faster than a regular, supersonic whip:
Attempting to mow down those ice warriors all at once, yet again the tail of the『Divine Dragon』deserted sound behind. Though similar to the whip Subaru used in arrangement, its pace and might was in an entirely different league.
Had it been Subaru’s whip then Emilia could’ve caught it bare handed, but that would be impossible for the dragon’s tail whip.
~ Arc 6, Chapter 84
And Volcanica in his less sleepy state is much faster than this, being able to blitz Emilia, who is supersonic for a variety of reasons, the least of which being able to easily catch Subaru's whip between her fingers despite the tip presumably moving at over Mach 2.

Also, I don't think anybody can take those "fast as lightning" statements seriously because they are the most generic hype words out there, unless Cecilus shows up in arc 7 and pulls off some crazy shit.

Volcanica should also probably get his own character profile.

At the very least, shouldn't spirits get NPI for interacting with od?

As for the speed assessment, it's fine with me.

Volcanica's profile would consist of like purification, breath attack, flight etc, ap scaling to Reinhard since he needs Reid? Though really drawing Reid isn't directly indicative of power, and simply being stronger than say Theresia wouldn't enough to scale to her speed either.

Making that profile for now sounds like a pain to me, i will pass on that.

Okay. What has been agreed can probably be applied then.

Thank you. Is there anything left to do here, or should we close this thread?
