Ramia-Yana: Hero & Demon Lord Chronicles is an Epic Fantasy Webcomic written and illustrated by TheGoldenSmurf. The story centers around an eternal conflict between humanity and demonkind, and a mysterious and seemingly-immortal ancient Hero called Ramia. I think it's pretty neat. The art is certainly great, and the story has been picking up as of late. It has the kind of Standard Fantasy Setting you'd see in Dragon Quest or your Typical Isekai but with a Darker Edge to it. You can read it for Free on this website or this other website if you're so inclined.
I also think that Ramia could easily have profiles on VBW. The series has some pretty direct and cool feats and plenty of characters. So in this thread I'll be posting all the feats and statements that the story has shown so far in a comprehensive manner, dividing them by chapter to not clutter things too much. With that being said, let's get into it.
Chapter One:
- Despite being a really old woman, the local Town Elder, Gertrude, is actually really strong and this town guard is terrified of her
- This is because Gertrude was a Hero who defeated the Demon Lord in her youth
- Ramia is even older than Gertrude, and used to be a Hero too, though the local guard isn't buying her story
- He explains that local women, including his own sister, have been disappearing in the nearby Cursed Forest, so Ramia decides to go out on a stroll to the woods
- There, she meets a deceptively cute little monster and a sneaking octopus.
- The Underground Octopus can secrete a paralyzing toxin which appears to freeze Ramia, and the little squirrel is a Kachooli, a monster that can enlarge itself
- Note that the town guard wonders if the cause of the Earthquake could be "Mother Mastoravia". More on her later
- As an aside, the Kachooli is actually a Reincarnated Human from a parallel world called Akira, and Ramia is apparently quite familiar with his kind
- He takes her to their hideout, a hidden cave created with a Nature Spell
- Ramia's throat is slashed with a magic-infused knife, and not only does she take no damage, but the knife breaks on impact with her skin
- (The Crazy Priestess is also the one who created the hideout, she was actually acting on her own accord there)
- The town mayor says that Ramia is "a monster who has committed an unforgivable crime against humankind as a whole" and banishes her from the city, so Gertrude suplexes and admonishes her
- The reason Clea (The guard Alex's sister) went into the Cursed Forest was to find a Vale's Tear, a magic flower that can ease up the pain of old age
- Another example of Gertrude's strength in her old age, punching through a boulder (Also, Ramia arrived in just two hours after Gertrude called for her, despite being "far away, whatever that means)
- Ramia developed and refined the spell herself after much practice and experimentation, and her clone will last for 10 years while also being strong enough to handle a High Class Demon (You'll see how impressive that is later)
- By the way, Ramia implies that she has several of these all around the world, acting as her own informants
- We get an extended look at the "Demon King" and his many generals, and we see the Demon King is strong that with a casual stomp he shatters and cracks the Human King's castle, the capital, and the nearby mountains
- Chapter Four consists entirely of a short Flashback Sequence that you can read in full
- There, we see a scene from over 100 years ago, where an entity that is trapped "on the other side" curses Ramia for apparently betraying her
- She refers to Ramia as her "Little Sister", and prophecizes that she will have a miserable death filled with regrets
- Chapter Five ironically opens with a Flash-Forward to nine years in the future, where Ramia is engaged in battle with two eldritch abominations. Maybe this is how she will eventually die? Who knows at this point, story's barely begun and its already teasing the endgame?
- Back in the present, the Capital Troops easily defeated a horde of harpies and goblins but struggled against two Lower Class Demons
- We get a look at the Map of the Continent, the Demon Territory to the East easily encroaches on all of the other kingdoms put together
- Eldarius then proceeds to give an info-dump on Demon Abilities and Hierarchy: For starters, all demons have a 1000 year lifespan and the capability to transform, and even Low Class Demons are so strong that only Elite Knights could potentially win against them
- Even so, despite their power every single Demon Lord in history has been defeated by a Chosen Hero wielding a Holy Sword, such as Gertrude 30 Years ago. However, the power of a hero doesn't guarantee a clean and easy victory against demonkind
- Some guy asks Eldarius if Gertrude is the strongest person he ever met, but he immediately denies it. Ramia is far stronger
- Chapter 6 opens with a flashback to the war from 30 year ago, where Gertrude and her allies formulate a strategy to defeat the Demon Lord and his remaining generals by establishing the "Demon King Extermination Squad"
- The squad was formed by Gertrude herself, Eldarius, and Aritimis, and to complete the team Gertrude called Ramia, who at the time was living as a nun
- According to Eldarius, If Gertrude is like a shining angel, then Ramia reminds him more of the abyss itself
- Adler wants the gathered mercenaries to also attempt the Holy Trial, including the Top-Class Mercenary leader, the Demon Hunter Kehar (Who has killed 19 Low Class Demons and 2 Middle Class ones), despite him being as far removed from "Hero Material" as one could possibly be
- Nhimp was only being casual before, he is actually a High Class Demon. However, he isn't a General, but only a Lieutenant
- Eldarius doesn't believe him, so Nhimp shows him the real General through a projection. It possesses a terrifying Aura and is on a completely different level from a High Class Demon, but it's different from the Aura of a Demon Lord. In fact, it might not even be a Demon at all. Meanwhile, another General has already infiltrated the city
- However, she actually spares two little boys and even gives back the hat one of them dropped. Probably because she thought they were cute
- Chapter is still ongoing so the feats abruptly stop here for now
- Here are random stuff from Omakes, Special Illustrations, and Old Concepts
- Another illustration shows Osumihime and Tsunagumo standing on top of the "Cursed Impaling Abyss", a place where stakes sharp enough to pierce through armored soldier spontaneously sprout from the ground. Tsunagumo's skin is so tough that she does push-ups with her fingers against the tip of the stake, and other High Class demons can casually sit and stand on the stakes
