Prototype top tier upgrade

Status
Not open for further replies.
Doesn't seem to be anything wrong with it.

I'll camp out to see what happens if someone does see something wrong with it.

I'm not the most familiar on Prototype. But from what I can tell, there's nothing contradicting it. IIRC the previous Tier 7 upgrade was rejected because it was Prortotype 1 Alex. This is Prototype 2, therefore much stronger.

The calc itself is Prototype 1 based 0.0

@Garg

You know I love Vergil ;-;

I find this VERY doubtful considering Alex was almost killed by a nuke despite being a good distance away from it

@Gargoyle Alex was nowhere near the epicenter and he was still almost killed, applying Inverse Square Law wouldnt even put the energy he survived in the tier 7 range

Bad troll

Considering his supposed durability would be building level using inverse square law when he has multiple feats in-game far above building level, plus the game's description of the nuke being proven mathematically false, and every other feat in Prototype 2 being far above building level, either its an outlier or the writers don't know how to nuke.

>Miles away from epicenter

Less than one mile actually.

It's not a troll. It's an explicit, plot-relevant showing that shows that he is not High 7-C, and much more consistently in the Tier 8 range.

And no backwards scaling, Prototype 1 Alex is being discussed here.

@UMR Actually no, it's 100% consistent

The nuke at 1 mile away would mean the energy he's being hit by is 8-A+ (140150502819 joules to be exact), consistent with him being low-end 8-A and being almost killed

Consistency and plot relevancy means nothing when supposed facts about the nuke in question were already debunked.

Supposedly at bare-minimum 8-C via ISL

8-A feat (as soon as he gets his powers mind you)

High 7-C feat from someone he ate

Multiple at least 8-A feats for weaker infected in the next game

Nuke feat stands out.

>Bare minimum 8-C

Consistent with nuke low-end

>8-A

Consistent with nuke high-end

>High 7-C

Outlier

>Multiple At least 8-A feats

Citation needed.

Applying Inverse Square Law to the nuke feat puts the energy that almost killed Alex at 8-A+ bordering Low 7-C

This is very consistent with Prototype 1 Alex being low-end 8-A

High 7-C is vastly above anything else in the entire series and contradicts basically everything

This would only scale to Prototype 2 Alex Mercer, Prototype 1 Alex gets one shot by these if he doesn't have adrenaline surge, and P2 Alex scales to Heller, who can withstand these.

Didin't this feat occur in Protottype 2, where Alex was in some stronger armored/evlved/ whatever form? If so, there's nothing contradicting High 7-C Prototype 2 if he was in an explicity stronger state/form.

The feat was in Prototype 1, but there's still Thermobaric Missiles in P2, which again, Heller can withstand.

Bare minimum 8-C is the result from the nuke.

"Radius of the explosion = 5.637km

Mercer was over the center of the bomb since he dropped it from the chopper, which has a top speed of 222mph.

At 5:01 he starts to take off from being over the bomb and flying back to NYC. The bomb catches him at 5:11, that's 10 seconds. 222mph = 99.2429m/s times 10 = 992.429m.

I = (8159621.44 Tons of TNT) / 4¤Ç((992.429m)^2) = 0.6593*0.68m^2 = 0.44 tons durability 8-C"

8-A isn't the high end of an 8 megaton nuke. uwotm8

High 7-C is an outlier from the top tier of the first game who is shown superior to Alex in almost every scene and casually one-shots?

"Multiple At least 8-A feats"

Goliath tanking multiple thermobaric missiles which got an 8-A result in the first game.

@Gargoyle Once again. Inverse Square Law. Alex didnt tank the nuke at its epicenter, only a small portion of the explosion.

All of Alex's tier 8 feats are when he has no powers, fresh out of the morgue, or after he unlocks his first power. Calling an end-game feat an outlier by comparison of his very first feats at the beginning of the game doesn't make sense, this pretty much doesn't allow the game to tell its story without being restricted.

His calculated durability from the nuke would be lower than any other feat in either game. This is also backed by Supreme Hunter boasting he'd be able to withstand the nuke after consuming Mercer, while being one floor above the nuke.

Now every statement by someone who doesn't have a history of delusions and bragging needs to have a supporting feat. That's Dragon Ball downgrade logic.

By that logic a perfectly sane human can say they can survive a nuke and they'd get 7-B duability. It doesnt matter if they say something when they dont have the feat to back it up

@UMR

False equivalency, the only Dragon Ball rating that is based on a statement and nothing more is Cell, which is reinforced in every adaptation, guidebooks, official summaries, video games, etc.

Did you forget the amount of fighting caused over Absolute Zero, scaling Jiren + dozens of others from Zamasu, Zeno, U9 Kaioshin statements, etc?

Regardless:

"A character CAN be upgraded by word of mouth alone. You just have to double check to see by how much, as well as":

  • If the source of the statement is reliable?
  • (Yes, Supreme Hunter was once in both Elizabeth Greene's body and Alex Mercer's body, as well as calling itself an intelligent cancer ripped from its host, so it knows what it is talking about, and should know the scope of their abilities. After all, it is more or less composed of the two.)
  • If the statement conflicts with the story or feats of the character?
  • (Considering he was reduced to a puddle by Mercer, then plotted the storyline after Mercer consumed Greene, during which time he was strong enough to fight Mercer after consuming Greene, his feats check out and he has no reason to lie. The game is a science story where the most outlandish statements come from James Heller who confidently tells all of his enemies he's going to kill them in the most brutal ways, which he does)
  • If the statement is only valid in the context of its setting, or if it holds up in comparison with other settings?
  • (The only other comparable setting is James Heller absorbing Mercer, which produces the result of James flooding every street in Manhattan with his biomass in seconds, which is likely another Tier 7 feat, but that's a pain to calc ATM.)
There's no reason why all of a sudden people can't be upgraded via statements.

"Did you forget the amount of fighting caused over Absolute Zero, scaling Jiren + dozens of others from Zamasu, Zeno, U9 Kaioshin statements, etc?"

Zamasu and Zeno and Jiren all have feats which are clarified through statements of other characters. Even the Absolute Zero is a feat, someone being frozen, which is clarified to be Absolute Zero, but even that is contested cause it could be a boast.

The Supreme Hunter being intelligent is not at all an automatic guarantee that the source is reliable. If he says he can do something, and then never does, that is the very definition of a sketchy, debatable statement.

Him plotting to destroy Mercer and being strong enough to fight him does mean nothing when Mercer is Tier 8? James Heller saying that he'll kill people is not comparable. Saying "I'll rip your arms off", and then doing it is not the same as saying "I'll destroy this entire city", and then never doing it.

Source and context for that other feat.

Every feat in Prototype except one is Tier 8, except this sudden last one which even then is unquantifiable, so no upgrade for an unproven statement.

He is stretching his tentacles throughout every street in the city. That's impressive range, but it is no way the equivalent of blowing up new york city.

Not Tier 7, like I expected it wouldn't be.

What about the KE? Those were extremely fast and gigantic tendrils, stretching kilometers.
