Step 1: On the VS Battles Wiki, go to
your Blog section and create a post for the character you want to make a profile of. Alternatively, you can do this in
your sandbox. Doing the profile there means you can edit over time if you want to before it becomes an official profile. Profiles that are uploaded incomplete and/or with a very inexperienced look will most likely be deleted.
Step 2: Make the profile of the character there, using the
Standard Format for Character Profiles as a base for it. It is best to edit using the source editing mode instead of the visual editing mode, so you can make sure the page is formatted correctly. You can also check the source code of other profiles to see if you're using proper formatting or to copy a template that you didn't memorize how to implement. It is important to
reference the sources of your evidence in the profile, since there is
a rule that makes them usually mandatory when creating profiles.
Step 3: When you consider the profile you made finished, you can make the profile an official page. At the top right corner of the VS Battles Wiki, you should see a bunch of buttons next to the page count. The button with the paper that has its bottom right corner folded is the "Add new page" button. Click on it.
Step 4: Title the page. It is important to note that, if the character has a name that many other characters have, it is best to add the character's origin in parentheses after their name. When you named the page, click "Next".
Step 5: If you did everything correctly before, you should be editing a blank official page. Copy the profile you saved using the source editing mode, and paste it on the official page using the source editing mode. If you didn't use the template for tiers in the saved version of your profile, then remember to add them. Also, don't forget to add categories to the profile. Very important ones include the character's tier and origin. When you're finished, simply save your edits, and then the profile is official.
