Preparation for the Narutoforums revision project

Hello.

Kavpeny has told me that he will be unable to actively organise the Narutoforums calculation links replacement revision project.

However, he has previously helped Ryukama to structure a layout for how it should be organised.

As such, Ryukama will organise the revision on his own instead.

The links that have working Wayback Machine backups are simply supposed to be replaced with them, whereas the ones that do not have to first be copied to blogs in this wiki (while giving full credit to the original author), and then those can be linked to instead.

This means that we are very dependent on members with working Narutoforums accounts with more than 25 posts, who are able to copy the calculations here, and will allow regular members to help out with the blog-copying part of the work, although it seems safer, and easier to overview, to let the staff update the character profiles.

In any case, in preparation for the revision project we wonder when our staff members (and regular members with working Narutoforums accounts, who are willing to help out) have time over to do so. It would probably be good if we can handle it during the holidays.

We should find out how many people are available and at what times. I for example am not going to be that much available for a while until Winter Break starts in a week or two. Whenever the most amount of staff are free should be when it starts.

I think that it seems easier to structure the revisions if each blog contains the calculation or calculations within a single Narutoforums link.

Hmm...i was planning to post 5 calculations in a single blog to prevent my blogs from getting swamped by the revision, but i have no problem. I am fine with whatever we decide.

I think that the best way to make this work is to gradually note down the links without Wayback Machine backups in the revision thread, so the members with working Narutoforums accounts can copy them to blog posts here.

It is unnecessary to copy any calculations that already have backups after all.

Well, a Narutoforums account is not necessary for updating the calculation links to Wayback Machine backups. A large part of them have been backed up by Lina Shields and myself previously.

Well, the problem lies in organising between different members.

For example, if one member without a working Narutoforums account finds a calculation link without a backup, he or she needs to inform the ones who do that they have to copy the calculation to a blog here.

Then somebody needs to use the search tool that I linked to above to check which pages that need to have their links updated to the new URL.

Wouldn't using an image capturing extension to simply snap images of the calcs be much better? The "FireShot" extension is excellent in this regard. We would not need to put the calcs in our own blogs.
