Power Mimicry question..

So....do we have any distiction between innate and weapon abilities when it comes to power mimicry? I think we should...

For example, character A can copy innate magical abilities of character B, however, all of character B's abilities comes from a sword which character B wields...and character A has never been shown to copy weapon abilities.

I would also make a distiction between characters who generate and create their weapons from magical energy which exists inside of them, and characters who draw magical abilities from weapons and objects which they physically possess.

What does everyone else think?

So you mean, like a sword swing? I mean, proboably not, but if someone use attacks like D.va's Defense Matrix and other specific moves should be fine.

To some up what I am proposing...

Someone like Medaka cannot copy the abilities of a supernatural, superpowered, or magical objects such as Zelda's Triforce or the MCU's Infinity Stones without feats of copying abilities granted by weapons.

I am not sure. We need more staff input for something like this.

The only power mimicers I'm familiar with either have an explicit restriction or are ridiculous and can straight up power copy things that aren't powers. I'd agree with your suggestion as a default assumption, though. What they've been shown copying would be what we assume they can do.

Well, we would need both a suggested new wording for the Power Mimicry page, and staff approval for applying it.

I've wonderdd about this too, and I think it would have to do with the copying mechanics.

Eg most characters probably couldn't replicate it, but for someone like, say, Kars, who could analyze the weapon and then alter his body to replicate it's effects then maybe. Same for Medaka as well.
