Okay, so, Ford's machine, being the portal device, caused many gravitational fractures within Gravity Falls. His portal was capable of lifting the Mystery Shack (9-A, possibly 8-C) and caused major damaging around Gravity Falls (Possibly Low 7-C). Ford being Small Town level may not be as accurate, but at least him being Small Building level, possibly building level could be added.. Afterall, it was his invention that was capable of lifting the Mystery Shack off the ground completely.

Either way Ford is tiered via his feats as himself, not his inventions.

Ford would be so much higher if we rolled in the inventions.

Yeah, though not a whole lot of inventions from Ford is seen within Gravity Falls. (He was introduced to the series 12-8 episodes before the finale, there are the upcoming comics though).
