It's no different than using the shotgun and Rage Mode, It's just a boost to his physical stats, the effectiveness of his special powers don't change at all from what I've seen.

Also the heat is the main point

Kris can endure being electrocuted for extended periods of time, they can take attacks involving high temperatures.
