"Right, let's just keep our distance for now. Only intervene if something gets out of hand," he cocked his eyebrows curiously. "Mayyyyyybe speak to them if they're cool? Could be a once-in-a-lifetime event."

"Well, I don't know about that." she chuckled and glanced down at the table. She tapped her fingers against the surface, looking rather dazed. "...sounds like a personal question. Wouldn't you say?"

"I don't see it that way. I've had my Stand for as long as I could remember, it's just another part of life for me. I'd appreciate it greatly if you could show it to me, the more Stands I encounter the closer my research grows to completion. It's for the sake of mankind, we simply must learn the origin and capabilities of Stands."

"Seems about right," Michael said as he sat down, albeit his eyes were never ripped from the strange conversation.

Joe notices the man summoning something and lifts his gaze from the book to towards the stand.

Damn youngsters and their bizzareness

  • Light grunt
He looks back down and continues reading his book.

Mame sighs in confusion, she puts her cookbook back and trys to see if they have any books on hamon. They probably dont, but better safe than sorry.

"That old man. You saw that right? He can see them too," Michael's face was scrunched in thought. "This is weird. For as long as I can remember, only you and I have ever been able to see these things. This whole town keep getting weirder and weirder the longer I gaze on it..."

"Asking to see a woman's stand sounds very personal to me," she said with a small grin and s giggle. "I do admire your dedication, though. Tell me, what's your end goal?"

"Do you think all of them have these...Stands they speak off?" Michael says, while lamenting on how idiotic the name sounds when said out loud.

"My end goal is to learn the source of Stand power, I want to find out what it is that makes us different to others, if it can be manipulated or induced. I want to learn if Stands can be used to advance our technology, to bring humanity to a new age of prosperity through Stand power, these things that can bend the laws of physics and do what we thought was impossible, their potential is immeasurable. If you don't want to show me your Stand, could you at least describe it?"

Just looking around the library yielded no results.

"Eh... I would I assume so but we cant be certain" Otto replys while yawning.

"A stand can't be the only king that humanity can rely on to push forward," Stephanie shot back, her smile disappearing as she shrugged. "Especially when so far it seems to be a random process. I'm assuming you've looked far. If you've only found thirteen...the odds of there being a set pattern are slim, yes? Stands in the hands of normal people with good or bad intentions...they don't seem like something humanity could rely on."

"While that is true, I suspect there is a cause to find, our most likely assumption is currently that the humans capable of manifesting Stands possess a unique genetic trait, there is evidence to Stands being inherited, as I had met a family wherein the father and both children possessed Stands. Additionally, I find it likely that the potential to use Stands is more common than it currently seems, as it is possible for Stands to awaken later in life, meaning they could be hiding within many who never even realize it. My goal is to find out if the trait that causes Stands to appear can be manipulated, if such a thing is achievable, then anyone could theoretically possess a Stand, it would lead to unprecedented progress. Of course, humanity cannot rely only on Stands, but to ignore such a thing would be insane."

Standing up, Bear hopped down from the bookshelf as he walked over by the group of Stand users, the cat hopping onto a nearby table as he began licking his leg.

"If anyone could gain a stand, people could get unimaginable power. And power, as they say, corrupts. Just look at some of the governments around the world, and you'll find a good example of that. So much war would happen, depending on the stands, global casualties would rise immensely, and if another war is to break out..." she glanced off to the side and was silent for several moment. "I find only technological innovations can really put us forward. That's why I still create things...it's why I came here, actually. Wanted to work on some inventions..."

Mame looks at the cat, she calmly pets it. She listens to the conversation with interest, trying to figure out what the hec a "stand" is.

"No matter what advancements are made, they will be weaponized, whether Stand based, or technology based. We can only hope that whatever develops is capable of decreasing casualties. Stands possess such powers too, some Stands can heal wounds that could never be healed otherwise. It is my hope that the good would outweigh the bad, but with our world, you can never know for sure, regardless, I carry on for the sake of humanity. I must say, this conversation has been fascinating. I would love to aid you in whatever you're working on."

"Oh, I'm just working on a few simple ideas, though I must say I also enjoy the conversation." She grinned at him, glancing around her environment. "Though, I'd rather not talk about my ideas here. Prying eyes and whatnot."

"Oh I thought I said it." She spoke in a dull tone as she shrugged once more. "Stephanie Beauregard. I come from Bermuda. I'm just in town for a little while."

Nicholas noticed another person sitting near them and petting a cat.

"Hello, were you listening in on our conversation? Is there something you'd be interested to know?"

Michael leans in, attempting to move as slow as possible to not be noticed.

"Welp, at least they haven't come over here yet. We really need to work on the whole covert thing. I'm almost certain they've noticed us though."

Mame notices she's being talked to "O-oh, I was listening." She says respectfully. "Whats this 'stand' stuff you keep talking about?"
