Papyrus vs. Theory (Grace)

I mean, Papyrus probably has too much control over his magic to accidentally kill someone lel
Yeah, he always manages to keep Frisk at at least 1HP no matter the circumstances. Toriel accidentally killed Frisk but there’s nothing to suggest Papyrus would be as reckless, especially since Papyrus is trying to subdue you non-fatally from the beginning, while Toriel explicitly attempts to push Frisk to their physical limits to verify their ability to survive the rest of the Underground. Papyrus also would have more recent training, since he’s an active member of the Royal Guard training under Undyne, while Toriel has been locked up in The Ruins ever since the events following the death of Chara and Asriel

Theory should be able to get in a few hits considering how pitiful Papyrus’ opening attacks are, and with an AP gap that egregious, that’s all he really needs. I’ll not vote yet but that’s how I see it. If Papyrus starts his soul fuckery though Theory doesn’t really stand much of a chance. He isn’t equipped to deal with that, especially since Flowey has to teach Frisk about their soul and how to manoeuvre it, implying it’s not basic or instinctual knowledge

Papyrus starts with those pitiful attacks as he wanted to see if frisk would fight or refuse to, and then proceeded to use funky ahh soul shit after he found out how frisk would react in a fight.

In this situation papyrus already knows he’s fighting someone, so there isn’t a reason for him to delay like he does in his fight with frisk.

Hold on, before we go any further are we assuming this as a kind of turn based battle as it would be in Undertale or a normal free flowing battle as it would be in WWE? Essentially, can Papyrus just keep Theory’s SOUL blue for as long as he needs without Theory getting a chance to respond?

Pretty sure it’d just be a free flow battle.

papyrus seems to train in that matter. Encounters seem to just be game mechanics to a degree.

In that case, if Papyrus does start with turning Theory’s SOUL blue, and he has no incentive at any point to stop, he just murks him and gets a incapacitation win eventually when Theory goes comatose after escaping from his garage for like the 100th time or smth

That's gotta be the greatest summarization of Papyrus' garage i have ever heard.

Also iirc Undertale monsters are really fragile so I'm pretty sure a light jab from Theory would vaporize Papyrus

I'm still waiting for other people's opinions on what Papyrus would open with in character, sooo-
Pretty sure, from my memory of Papyrus' fight(haven't played it in a while), that he starts with generally lethal attacks that aim to incapacitate rather than kill. Like @Pikaman said, he will also turn his opponent's soul BLUE.

Jesus Christ people this isn’t a Fun and Games thread you can violently derail without a care in the world, people are trying to debate without your petty feuds getting in the way, contribute to the thread or don’t post at all

This happens in most WWE versus threads tbh.

Though tbf, Papyrus vs The Demon or The Undertaker is the much better matchup (even though they both stomp).

Pika get your ass out of a bunch. The debate isn't being hindered, people can and are freely commenting on the matchup.
