Gojo has also shown a feat of blocking inanimate objects tossed at him (that aren’t Cursed Objects by the way, just mundane objects with no cursed energy at all such as erasers and pencils) that lack cursed energy, so Cursed Energy isn’t a requirement for Gojo blocking them either.

Yes, but they have no cursed energy, so Gojo doesn’t need cursed energy to be able to block them since he blocked them even when they have no cursed energy (implying that Cursed Energy are taken out of the equation). The way Gojo worded his explanations of his Infinity after he blocked those inanimate objects implied that Cursed Energy are only one of the factors, and that mass, shape and speed are the others.

If he can block inanimate objects with no cursed energy before, then it’s not that unlikely for him to block sound and heat with cursed energy taken out of the equation.

Though even if we assume Gojo should not be able to block massless attacks lacking cursed energy due to lack of feats or further explanations, then Verse Equalisation could still screw Pain over if we assume Chakra = Cursed Energy, since all of Pain’s attacks are based on Chakra anyways. Cursed Energy ≠ Chakra is the only way where Pain has a win condition or two more than the unlikely Human Path win condition, and even then Pain would still be at a disadvantage due to the arguments in Gojo’s favour above.

first this is a stomp but let me clarify something.
Pain gravity is not sending out chakra, he is simply making himself the centre of gravity from which attract and repel happens from so he is not sending out chakra

Well in the fight with kakashi when kakashi was explaining he said he becomes the centre of gravity from where he can either pull or repel. i dont have the scans with me right now but that was where it was explained

You didnt got what I said, he can sense the things due amount of cursed energy, mass and others factors, pencil have no cursed energy, but have mass, but Jogo attacks, despite being heat based, they have cursed energy, so, Infinitg can sense it

Eh, since this is just an another one of Gege Akutami being vague about the full extent of Gojo’s abilities again, I guess you can go ahead and assume that massless attacks with no cursed energy can affect him, I’ll just wait until there’s some other canon evidence kicks in that confirms on whether or not Infinity can also block those types of attacks somewhere in the future as well.

we'll likely have conceptual manip for the infinity soon since a new translation came out for it.

I don't think Gojo can slow down Gravity or if will select it. So even casual ST should deal damage to Gojo, Banshoo Tenin and CT should also affect him.
His Domain probably won't work on Pain due to his brain being you know "dead". And most importantly Limitless can't be used for some time after the Domain which leaves him (if you believe he selects Gravity with Limitless) vulnerable to Tendo and other paths abilities.
Pain wins.
