overhaul vs king bumi

Overhaul really has no business fighting earthbenders since it's really unfair Overhaul reconstructs the battlefield and skewers Boomy since he needs touch and movement to bend his bending with his face is also far more limited than his usual stuff plus even if Overhaul can't kill him he could just outlast him
 
i dont believe king bumi needs to be touching anything to earth bend. also can you try using some puncuatiion please that was long, confusing, and it was hard to figure out where one thing ended and another began. as for outlasting, bumi's stamina is pretty good and he's a completely unorthodox fighter, so that wont be easy.
 
Most earthbenders need to be in contact with earth to exercise control on it and Boomy has only not needed touch with his face which is far more limited. Overhaul will outlast him since he can regenerate his stamina
 
im pretty sure the whole point of the face thing was to show that he doesnt need to be in contact with the ground to do it he just used his face because thats all he could move.
 
if he can do it with only his face it's logical that he can do it with his hands and other parts of his body.
 
He's never displayed the ability to do so even though it'd be very useful and even if we assume he can we've seen how limited his control is and if Earth benders could do it why didn't Toph just rip the airships out of the sky
 
its not any earthbender its exclusively bumi, and he never got the opportunity and never needed to.
 
he can levitate rocks and control them while they're in the air (basically every earth bender can do that actually. and thats on his profile.) he doesnt need to touch the earth to control it.

the airships arent made of earth, there is some metal but toph had literally just invented metal bending, theres no way she'd be able to do a master level thing right of the bat.

no, no it was not. she had literally just invented it, there is no way it was as good as her earth bending.

He had been in contact with it before he exerted control on it that's what I've been trying to say

She invented it back in season 2 and had several months in that time span she gained control over sand if she couldn't control it from a distant thats contradictory of what she's displayed
 
and my point was he can control even after he isnt in contact with it.

she had several years worth of earth bending expirience while being trained by giant moles and learning from other benders, she's had metal bending for like a year at longest and is completly self taught, not very comparable.
 
in all honesty i've completely forgotten the point of this, why was it important if he needed to touch it or not?

thats because she cant really see through sand, her seismic sense doesnt work with sand and she has little experience with it.
 
I argued that Bumi won't be able to properly counter Overhaul's spikes since he'd likely be mid air during deconstruction

And yet she went from not that experienced to being able to create a replica of a city in like second after some training
 
ah i see, but why would he be mid air?


my memories to iffy to say if thats accurate or not.
 
When Overhaul reconstructed the entire battlefield against Mirio due to him pulling it away to form spikes Mirio ended up in midair

Check season 3 iirc it's the episode where Aang blasted Zulu out of the house cause he attacks him

because he jumped away, bumi could bend it away from him or make earth sheilds or something

bumi could grab a spike and bend it into a wall or just bend the rest of the spikes through it or something.
 
Overhaul would be attacking from multiple directions though and even then Bumi would have to survive multiple attacks like this while fighting someone he can't outlast and who can also insta kill him if he gets close
 
bumi's dealt with multiple opponents so multiple directions shouldn't be much of a problem, and bumi normally moves around a lot during fights anyways so touching/hitting him wouldn't be easy.
