I don't see why you'd have to prove they're hyperbole. It outright says 'The Stun Baton flares, and the white lightning flashes striking the heavens' and 'An electric shock that roars the wind and explodes'. Genji doesn't produce explosive lightning from the sky/into the sky that makes the wind roar, he just produces electricity from his stun rods.

As for Lightning Max, I'm more neutral on that; a burst/explosion of thunder doesn't remotely suggest lightning speed. And Max is already FTE and produces extremely bright flashes/loud bangs, so a regular person mistaking his strikes for lightning wouldn't be MHS+.

However, I can't really deny the other statement.

They sound hyperbolic to me, just something to say to make them sound cooler. Especially considering that both of them have lightning in their name.

Producing electricity and moving at the speed of a lightning bolt are to completely different things.

Lightning Max uses gunpowder to increase his kicking speed and Genji failed to dodge electricity attacks before. They have no backing for a MHS+ upgrade in my view. It's why this exact same thread was rejected a year or two back.

Max's lightning kicks use gunpowder in his shoes. His name comes from the flashy explosions that his kick produces, not lightning manipulation.
