i imagine odas had talks with toei that oda would focus less on action and just let toei handle most of the action

Bruh, Garling’s biggest contribution in God Valley was basically farming aura. All I can remember Garling doing in the flashbacks is avoiding having to pay child support and finishing off Rocks who was already down. Not beating the Fraud allegations lol, especially since he already got his ass whooped by Rocks before he received a buff from Domi Reversi.

Also I’m surprised that Dragon got arrested. I expected he would escape. This is really interesting though, depending on how much detail is in the chapter, it might give us our first on screen interaction between Garp and Dragon.

Supposedly the latest chapter has a nice little callback to the Alabasta scene where Sanji saves Luffy from drowning and Zoro saves Smoker

The chapter is out now. It had me feeling really bad for Harald tbh, while I’m glad we got to see his reaction to Rocks, this is a flashback, so everything he ever did amounted to nothing which is tragic. Like damn he offered himself as a Slave, and we know Elbaf is still unaffiliated by the current day of the story. I’m curious what stopped Elbaf from joining the WG.

Since the god valley incident is now over, what would y’all rate it

i think itll age better than oden flashback, but i do think its obvious that oda wanted to get through this as fast as he could

But seriously, I never expected Harold to be related to the Florian Triangle or for both him and Shanks to be two of Imu's God Blades along with Gunko. Or for Shanks to help Fisher escape.

This could be the chapter of the year.

Just wait for the chapter to be out. Spoilers can be misleading or have incomplete details.

So there is a possibility in the current timeline that Shanks was one of the God Knights when he got his scar from Blackbeard - which would mean that Blackbeard has advanced conquerors' Haki

Wait, aren't the spoilers implying Shamrock is stronger than Shanks currently?
Possibly? Even if the spoilers aren't misleading, this is about 15 years ago. Shanks lost his arm 12 years ago and became a Yonko 6 years ago. There's too much to say for sure. The phrasing is ambiguous, so I'm waiting until we get the full chapter. We don't know who is comparing Shanks to Shamrock. It's one thing if the narrator gives info suggesting Shanks = Shamrock, but that could be from a non-objective character. Also, Shanks is spying on the WG, he may not be revealing the full extent of his abilities to them. We've also had few instances in the past where we got spoilers that were distorted by the leaker's biases as Damage pointed out. The Lucci stuff comes to mind.

It's over, Owari da

Two hands + Stronger than Shanks 😈
I think Mihawk is most likely stronger, but he has the Oda Offscreen Syndrome problem. There isn't a good balance of showing vs telling the audience details sometimes. It's worse than Shanks before Wano, because we've only seen him fight people who aren't on his level. Even Shanks clashed with Whitebeard & stopped the fighting at Marineford. I get it though; One Piece is a massive world with shit ton of characters.

I'm curious where Mihawk fits into the timeline though. I wonder if we'll get more details in the flashback, Oda still hasn't elaborated on his betrayal yet. After the God Valley arc, I think it would be cool if he did something similar to Boruto and supervised a prequel manga about the Great Pirate Era. That way he could semi-retire but keep OP going if he wanted. I know he helped with the Ace Novel at least.
