My honest reaction:
Exactly, i'm immediately knew that there was something off the very first time i see the video, and after watch it i must ask myself if he actually read One Piece. However, my impression of this video was that it was mainly just an assembly of petty and misleading vitriole that attempted to tear down what may be the greatest achievement of a single comic book artist in history and its very self-sacrificing, compassionate, moral, and progressive creator for extremely trivial, distorted, and exaggerated reasons.
Well, I read in the comments section that he is blacklisted from the anime industry due to deliberately rewriting and mischaracterising the English localisation versions of scripts due to hating the creators, so he is likely bitter over that, and as such took a massively poisonous and meanspirited swing of completely unfair mischaracterisation against the most popular manga and anime series in history, mainly out of vengeful spite and envy of Oda's success, and partially because he seems to be the kind of "All men who think that physically healthy fully grown women with big breasts are beautiful are automatically misogynistic bastards!!!!!!!!!!!" "progressive"/fanatically intolerant and likely mentally unbalanced radical feminist that gives much more sane and reasonable progressives (including myself) a bad name.Exactly, i immediately know that there was something off the very first time i see the video, and after watch it i must ask myself if he actually read One Piece.
With the jokes that just don't make sense or even mischaracterize story and characters like "all ex slaves become slavers" or "Zoro is sexist".
What do you mean? Oda himself selected a brown actor to play her in the Netflix adaptation. Also its just me or did he also blackwashed Vivi?
I'm talking about Vivi in the video not on Netflix, in the original manga/anime she its more white than brown. What do you mean? Oda himself selected a brown actor to play her in the Netflix adaptation.
Not my style, i prefer let it be, leave it so that me and others can rightfully criticize and mock it.You should all feel free to flag the video in question for hateful harrassment if you wish.
The dude is clearly just a salty washed animator with a failed series who's upset because he got criticized for turning it into garbage. It's 8 minutes of crying and I hope he's happy that he got his 200k view banger since his channel peaks at 5k views per video nowadays.Yeah it really is just him hating on One Piece. Not sure if it's actually because he hates it or, like Antvasima said, it's a way to clap back at the anime community because he got rightfully flamed for a stupid thing he did in the past. But it's probably both because he seems to actively bring up a lot of "bad" things about the manga, like how Oda draws and treats the women in it. Even includes a part at the end that basically says he's a pedophile and mentions how he drew Rebecca, Carrot, Shirahoshi and another girl that I forgot the name of. But like, a lot of mangakas do that? For example Togashi sort of did it, Kubo sort of did it (well, he just gave a teenage girl really fat boobs, though I don't recall him actively sexualizing her besides making boob jokes with her), hell even Toriyama did it. I doubt they're all pedos too, it's likely just something they do to attract people to read their stories, in a way. After all every single mangaka mentioned was writing a manga for teenage boys, who are probably the demographic that would like fanservice the most. What's even funnier is that even if he were right and Oda is one, it'd still have been much better to just not mention the "he draw teens with the bodies of adults" thing and instead talk about how he was supposedly friends with a pedophile.
Yeah it's obvious that he was mad and decided to knock two birds out with one stone by coping about One Piece on video for views.Well, some of his old "So This is Basically..." videos have received millions of views over the years, and it has only been two days since he released this one, so there is unfortunately a significant chance that this slander video will end up having similar viewer numbers over time.
I doubt that because the OP fandom is a very big fandom but it's still chock full of people who are really passionate about the series and wouldn't blindly tolerate someone not only hating on the series it self (i.e trying to say the fights suck and the characters have bad designs), but also actively insulting the creator of the series and framing him as a diddler.Well, some of his old "So This is Basically..." videos have received millions of views over the years, and it has only been two days since he released this one, so there is unfortunately a significant chance that this slander video will end up having similar viewer numbers over time.
He used like, Macro, too, who I'm pretty sure wasn't a slave, and then complained about all the irrelevant characters."all ex slaves become slavers"
That's a little true, Zoro do sometimes be holding back more against women who can actually fight than he does against fodders for some reason(pretty sure Tashigi specifically called that out), and also there was that moment where he was like "Whoah, Enel, you hit a woman?" and Enel was like "Bro, I am literally fighting you all rn, the **** you think I was gonna do?", which like, based Enel, you can't just hold back against like half of all possible opponents."Zoro is sexist".
Yeah, I mean, it's only a huge problem if you expect day-to-day Zoro to be smart, lol.Apparently you just can't write characters to be even a little bit sexist... Nobody can be flawed.
Ooo, Clone TroopersYou could say the same thing about some of these characters as you could about getting rid of Commander Cody in Star Wars Legends and giving his plot elements to other characters, like Rex. But what's the point of removing a character whose presence does add at least substance to the story?
Its crazy because the most prominent slaver we see (Hody) was explicitly not a slave nor did he face any kind of discrimination. Slaves like Fisher Tiger are some of the most prominent freedom fighters in the story"all ex slaves become slavers"
Yeah, it's gonna tie back, he's totally gonna have a flashback to Kuina and be like "Oh, ****, you're so right" at some point during a major duel.I'm pretty sure the sexism thing isn't even because he hates women or has any bad intentions for them, I think it's related to his backstory with Kuina more than anything.
Oh, ****, you're so right
What if Gojo was bald though
...What if Gojo was bald though
Answer the question?
Answer the question?
Sooo, just another Oda joke or a Kuzan is just THAT guy?
The last part seems like a joke, I'm not sure how taking control over the person would even work/how that's even possible to begin with. But the reforming part seems sorta legit? Ties back to the whole true body of a logia, so I can see it.
That ability should be listed as a "Possibly" tbh if the original screenshot for the justification says "It's possible that he'd take control over you".
The body puppetry should be only "possibly" for sure. Resistance to absorption is fine though. That ability should be listed as a "Possibly" tbh if the original screenshot for the justification says "It's possible that he'd take control over you".
still darkening him even more for no reason... As if light skins don't existPretty sure Oda said Usopp would be African if he was a real person so that's not so bad
