Niko Bellic vs Joel Miller Rematch (0-0-0)

1,014 days ago, this match was first made. However, the reasoning for Niko winning was flawed. He won due to "having better skill", but that very arguement was disproven a few posts later, yet people still FRAed Niko, giving him the win. Now that Joel has a higher AP than he did back then and has me to help with the discussion, I figured we should redo this match and see if we get the same result or if things turn around for Joel.

Rules:
  • Speed is equal
  • Fight takes place in a post-apocalyse NYC
  • Both start 30 meters away & are nearby plenty of cover
Who Wins?

Niko keeps his win: 0 ()
Joel turns the tables: 0 ()
Neither win: 0 ()

So before this starts, let me give my thoughts on the skill stuff

Joel has been fighting in the zombie apocalypse for the last 24 years. During those 24 years he was in the zombie apocalypse, he has faught the following:
  • Hordes of dozens of zombies, oftentimes with his bare hands due to how few recources there are
  • Zombies with hyper advanced hearing
  • Dozens of dozens of bandits at once, each one being armed with their own guns
  • The military
  • Dozens of FEDRA soldiers
  • Dozens of Firefly soldiers
  • Scalable to Tommy, who killed dozens, possibly hundreds of WLF soldiers solo, was described as a pro sniper, and killed pretty much everyone in Manny's troup, as well as hit accurate shots from hundreds of meters away and has military experience
  • Likely comparable to the other protagonists of the story such as Ellie & Abby, who both have feats of killing large groups of trained people solo with minimum recources
So pretty much, although Niko has more formal training, Joel's faught plenty of people with formal training and has come out on top, as well as also fighting dozens of people with great skill and came out on top, so I definetly think that there's a point to be made for Joel being comparable in experience

I have not been able to complete GTA IV so I do not know the full experiences behind Niko, but according to what his profile says, I would actually consider him to be more skilled than Joel. First, there is a big difference between armed forces before and after an apocalypse, it is likely that not many of the things Joel faced were really as competent as a pre-apocalypse army, who for survival would show more guerrilla tactics or typical things of a paramilitary force. Niko, on the other hand, in addition to being formally trained, with what is known about his military experience, has shown to have the typical profile of an exceptional soldier based on how his experience is sometimes described, and this would come from the beginnings of that war, which involved more than 7 conflicts at once and in a period of time that practically makes up an entire decade. Joel, on the other hand, has other strong points besides experience, his stealth ability is probably superior to Niko's, as he survives frequent encounters with infected with really sharp senses, or that he is able to ambush large groups of people, although in terms of precision and weapon handling, perhaps I would give it to Niko, but I'm still not entirely sure. For now, I'm not going to vote for either, I'm going to remain undecided for the moment

Joel was fighting the military at the beginning of the outbreak too, when it was still at full power, and you could argue it still kind of is with FEDRA as they still have access to some of their more powerful weapons, which Joel has also faught and defeated before
