I do recall Erza being able to resist things like mind manipulation, considering some of her fights in the Tartaros arc.

+Far more tenacious
+Definitely trumps Ness in CQC due to striking force and swordsmanship
-Limited in magic power
-Inferior range
Ness:
+Larger Range
+Can keep teleporting if Erza gets too close
+Can keep healing to stall out Erza's magic power
+Potential OHKO via PSI Flash
+Could possibly cripple Erza with Mind Manipulation and Paralysis, but Fairy Tail in general has proven to be no stranger to such abilities
-Limited in PP
-Pacifistic, may be inferior to Erza's tenacious nature
-May get homesick
I say Ness with medium difficulty.
